What to use to float hardi-plank?

What to you use to tape and float hardi-plank? I'm doing interior walls.

I'd use fiberglass tape and Duraglass for the first coat, then bondo or drywall mud for the second, are you texturing it?

Yes...

First, do you really mean Hardi-plank (the wood siding board stuff) or the Hardi-board (the 4x8 sheets of it)?

If you mean the 4x8 sheets it really isn't intended to be finished like drywall. I have seen it used with a board and batten look with a trim strip nailed or glued over top of it at 8", 12", 16", or 24" to hide the joints.

now that sounds more like what hes probably trying to do...i was wondering what clapboard siding was doing inside and why and how you would float it

Hardi-board sorry. I will be tiling over it. Its is a shower and I want all seems covered.

Fill the joints with thin set mortar and apply 2" wide high strength alkali resistant glass fiber tape.
