HF Jack Stands

Recently bought HF jack stands in the 6 ton version. They were inexpensive at $35 for a pair. Got them home and compared them to my Craftsman 6 ton. Immediately I noticed the HF were lighter. Put my calipers on them and they measued 2.75mm vs 3.8mm on the steel. Disappointing.

Too bad they discontinued the 6 ton CM pros. Much beefier.

Measured it's about 3.00mm average, but varies, shipping weight is quite a bit more but that doesn't always mean anything, could just be packaged better.

I like the double lock even though it probably doesn't do anything, sure made me feel better when I'm under it!

most of them are over 10 years old,
only problems have been broken roll pins on a couple of them.

It be interested to see the thickness of the older jack stands. I am not saying that CM is good and HF is bad. Just an observation on the weight. Kind of wondering if they are pushing the limits now a days on how little material they can put and still keep their rating.

Also I don't understand why CM discontinued their 6 tons.
