There are people that use a RSS real time feed of new ads and filter for keywords and send links to their cell phones. Great deals are often gone before most even see the add.

I have a $2 app that pushes keyword listings to my phone. It's not instant though.

Sometimes you just get lucky and are browsing at the right time.

So are you gonna tell us what it is you missed ? craigslist ads are generally deleted after the item is gone. A week from now nobody will have a clue what you're talking about...

I use cragslist pro on my android and it pops up keywords like SK,S&K, Bonney, armstrong......
It is not instant and sometimes it is repetitive but it does work.

The iphone app I use is cpro+. It is $1.99. The free one doesn't push notifications.

I like the app in general because I can search 3 areas around me simultaneously but separately.

The lush notifications is great if you don't have lots of time to browse. The app is easy to use though so I check it often throughout the day. Plus you can call or email right from it.

I use it almost exclusively to post listings too. No downloading photos to my laptop.

Atlas lathe is a good hobbyist brand, equivalent to Craftsman lathes. But it is not the lathe for the professional machinist. Rockwell drill press is nice.

I decided long ago not to purchase large items for serious money unless it is top quality. Otherwise, what happens is you soon learn that what you bought isn't really what you wanted or needed, so you get something a little nicer, then a little nicer still....

That's how I ended up with so damned many vises. Because I'm a slow learner, it took me longer to negotiate the learning curve.
