Started building my backup/home set yesterday in anticipation of the job move next month:
Craftsman Industrial 82 Piece Socket Set -- I know it's only got partial socket coverage but with all three ratchets it's a good foundation to build upon.
Craftsman Industrial 11 Piece Hex Key Socket Set -- I use these a lot and couldn't not have a second set.
Craftsman 5 Piece Philips and Flathead screwdriver sets -- can't live without these:
Craftsman Industrial 11 Piece SAE (3/8" up to 1") and Metric (10mm to 18mm) wrench sets (the 14 piece sets were still $80 at all 3 outlets I hit, these were $30 and $28 respectively and are FINE for my home use):
Those above will be a good start to a new home tool set. I tend to work on my cars a LOT (little things, tinkering and tweaking, all the way up to motor swaps, etc).
Below is stuff I didn't have for my new large shop job I'm starting next month. I didn't realize how much of an advantage it is to be in a shop with all it's own tools until now. Made me realize how much I was missing.
Craftsman Industrial SAE 7/16 through 1 1/16 Impact Sockets, short and deep:
All in all I was in for the craftsman stuff for just at $175.....I can't complain about that. May go back for more sockets too.......
Also hit Harbor Freight yesterday for a couple of sales/coupon items:
US General Bearing Race and Seal Driver Set:
Pittsburgh Double End Impact Socket Set (using one similar to these at the shop, very VERY handy to have IMO) and the Stepped Drill bit set which is a MAJOR win at $7. those stepped bits work like champs and I've put them through some tasks at the shop.
And these......I've had them for about a week or so now, they were sort of an Early Christmas present for me. Two Craftsman Professional full 13 piece wrench sets, SAE and Metric. I've wanted these for a LONG time and finally pulled the trigger now that they're out of production. I know, shame on me for not having them organized in rails yes, but I've got to rearrange my box.
No more tools for a while, spent too much lately.
