Newest addition to the ol tool fleet is a Milwaukee 6790-20 Drywall Gun....because its one of those tools I wont be using every day I figured I'd get a case...looks like Milwaukee doesnt have anything for it specifically, so that leads me to my question....any preferred cases out there for tools like this?
Brand doesnt matter...actually considering one of the DeWalt tool cases as I think those are pretty nice and can be had fairly reasonable for cost...or I get a soft bag type case.

Same would apply for a couple Bostitch nailers. All of my smaller nailers came with cases (Got 4 of em in cases) but my RN46 Roofing nailer is not in a case and same goes for my F28WW Framer. Hate having them free or in cardboard boxes that bust up easily. Any case/storage ideas for those?

Pelican/Hardig cases can be expensive but they're essentially indestructible, and you can always switch tools around in the boxes based on what you need to have that day.

I've noticed a lot of new power tools are coming with either nylon bags, or the "lunch box" deals that are pretty much worthless for anything but keeping dust off the tools. My least favorite part about my Hitachi drill/impact set is the huge pizza box it came in.

If I were a contractor hauling it all over god's creation...I'd do something like a Pelican...one big tote with foam for the seperate tools...but Its just more or less to keep my tools nice and organized.
Tell you what bugs me the most about tool cases...every tool even from the same MFG comes in a different sized and shaped case. How hard would it be to just design an insert for the various different tools in a case thats a common shape, or at least a couple shapes...I can see a Sawzall not fitting in a cordless impact driver case, but an SDS Drill and Sawzall are close enough they could use similar cases. Instead I've got about 15 designs of Milwaukee cases which do not stack, do not interlock, and are both Metal & Plastic in construction. Because sizes are so random & odd, its hard to even make it look nice on a shelf.

find brand new or near-new cases quite often at Habitat Rrestore, or even thrift shops, usually for a couple of bucks. If they sit there for a week, they usually move them to the free pile.
