I believe my buddy has this compressor and thus far it has performed well. He got his from Atwoods.
Hopefully he will chime in.

I have the same compressor except with a 5 h.p. motor. I have had it for about 20 years without a problem. If the size fits your needs, I would recommend it.

I've got the 3 cylinder version of that compressor, picked it up at an estate sale a couple of years ago. It's a great unit, lots of air, my only complaint is that it is a bit loud. Not as loud as the Craftsman oiless it replaced. I added the quieter intakes and it didn't seem to help at all.

I have a Puma 20gal horizontal. It is a really great compressor for the money. Not as loud in my opinion. I put a video on YouTube for the noise factor several months ago. Search for Puma air co.pressor and you can hear mine.

I found the information, reviews and first hand commentary lacking when I was looking at the 80gal puma compressors. Didn't understand why.

I liked that one, but way too big for my needs. I went with the 20 Gallon 2HP Puma. All ready to break in tomorrow morning.

Got mine for my BendPak 4 Post Lift (Getting Installed Dec 18th) and to use with air tools. Puma is basically an Ingersoll Rand, they are almost identical and made in the SAME place by the same people.

I also would try to stay with a 5 HP or above.....You can't have too much air....

I've got that exact compressor. IMO Very nice for the price....Low RPM, Quiet, plenty of air for general garage tinkering...
Again, its no 2 Stage, 10 horse 3 Phase Monster some guys got on here, but for the price I couldnt beat it.
Been over a year I've had it now and I can say honestly theres not once I regret buying it.

The only other one I really would have wanted was this one:
http://www.deere.com/wps/dcom/en_US/products/equipment/home_and_workshop_products/air_compressors/electric/80_gallon_5_hp/80_gallon_5_hp.page?
And the whole Overkill/wasting my money thing took over....

That is VERY True...But it can also be said "It is possible to have too little money".

IF money werent an issue, I wouldnt even have been shopping for a reciprocating compressor at all, I'd go with a Rotary myself.
When I was shopping, I had found a Small Kaiser Rotary at a price I could swallow on CL...the whole unknowns about rebuilding one IF it were bad and what to look for, etc.. I didnt want to end up with a boat anchor I couldnt afford to fix.
