Pneumatic Air Needle Scaler Tool

I'm on the market for a Crud removing tool for that tough gravel gaurd, undercoating, paint, & seam sealer removal tool. I own a Snap On Wire wheel all ready but would like a Air Needle Scaler to get into those more confined spots and tough areas to reach. Does anyone own one or use an air needle scaler? if so any recommendations for an industrial use one? IR, CP, Blue Point, etc and its quality. I don't put a price on Heavy Duty Industrial "air tools" so I would like the very best on the market, a compact, reliable, efficient air needle scaler. Thanks members!

Tried to order the Blue Point one from my Snap On guy, it was always backordered he said for months. Finally gave up, bought the Harbor Freight unit. I've used it on and off for the last year, and I have no complaints. I realize that it is not top of the line but it also was not top of the line price. I'm happy with it.

I have a cp (Chicago pneumatic) short one and I got no complaints. But I use a Danabrade zip for removing seam sealer and such. I really like it but sometimes the head gets in the way.

Don't expect good results on sheet metal with a needle scaler. It will do horrible damage.
Even on thick steel, it leaves behind a clear pattern of its destruction, peening everything in sight with crescent marks from the ends of the needles.

I'm sure if you're removing barnacles, or working on a steam engine, it has its places. I use mine to save time cleaning slag off welds, but never if the results are going to be visible.

+1. And it is small enough to be handy in the tight places. It is also cheap enough to try one out to see if you like the design, even if you then get a real (USA-made) one.

I was going to mention that, but I didn't know what he was using it on. When I worked in heavy equipment, we used it on channel Iron and heavy duty equipment for removing the scale rust before it went to sandblasting. No thin metal!
