BUY IT! Super rare only made a year or two, '65ish. From the pictures I would pay up to asking price.

The bottom box is a KRA500, middle box KRA520, the top box KRA510. If you want to see an excellent example of this set look at this thread post #16 in which member Ramblur shows his set:

That thread isn't working for me for some reason. The box you are referring to might be #1168 in this thread ... (hope it works)

Thanx PCO6 corrected typo different views in both threads!
Hah ... same box different threads. That's a great looking box. I believe Ramblur restored his. That's a fair of work ... 3 cabinets and 21 drawers (I think). If I were the OP I'd give up and send it my way.

No phone number and low price usually means seller is a spammer trying to get email addresses and phone numbers. I'd consider setting up a throwaway gmail account to contact this person if you're considering it.

It's rare and all that, but I wouldn't be showing up with my tongue wagging and my money clip out. There aren't a ton of people out there as nuts about tools and boxes as we are...so go look at it with a critical eye and make sure the only damage is wear and no structural damage. Also, keep in mind that's going to take some work to restore...that's no small project. If everything else checks out, I bet $300-350 cash would pry it away from him.

I have three Stanley Vidmars as base cabinets and a rolling Vidmar with a handle as a tool cart. I also have an older Stack On tool chest so I don't really need this as much as I think it would be interesting to have. I have emailed him because I live very close to him and it's worth a try. One of the first posts that I made on here was asking about a Proto tool chest with a rolling door that I found on Craigslist and by the time I contacted the seller it was gone.

Oh man, that box is sweet. I would be all over that thing if it were in my area.

It looks like rust but really the rust is very very minimal. Most of what you see is a peeling clear coat and some corrosion. I think a good cleaning and degreasing will bring it back to life along with pounding out the dents.

*Update*

I did some researched and found the best method that works for me to remove the friction slides was garbage feeler gauges that had their width ground down. Next, I used a parts washer to remove the years of regular applications of white lithium grease removed. Finally I bead blasted the rails to remove everything else. The question I have is that Ramblur said that he couldn't find replacement rails but I know that replacement friction rails are available. Are all friction rails not the same? Some of the rails that I have are bent like a drawer was open and the box fell. I have had success bending them back but if I can get a replacement than that is what I would like to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated and I will provide pics when I get the chance.

I checked through a buddy that was a Snap On dealer at the time and he told me no longer available. That was all the farther I pursued them...

Contacted Snap On customer service this morning and they were able to find the slides for the top box (KRA-510). I should be receiving them in 8-10 business days!

I took all of the slides that were operable and degreased them followed by a bead blasting and then wire wheel. I posted a pic so that you could see the progression.

Does anyone know if the lock for the bottom cabinet is similar to a filing cabinet lock? I recently bought one of these and the lock has been replaced with something quite different from what I've seen in any other photos on here.
