Do you usually have to send tools back? I have gotten quite a few tools warrantied over the phone and I never have to send them back. Have any of you guys had to?

I have not either, but the nice lady I spoke to said I might. I should either expect an email with return info, or my replacement tools. I got the tools. No email.

I had to return some wrench and ratchets for warranty exchange.

Always told it was a possibility but never had to send anything back.
They usually tell me outright to destroy the old tool and throw it away so somebody else can't warranty it again.
sent from the toilet via tapatalk 2.

I have warrantied many things through the phone and they never ask me too return it!! I would think they want you to return so they don't get warrantied again.

Forgive my ignorance as my only dealings with Snap-On have been solely through my Truck Reps, do they ask for some sort of proof of ownership? If not what's to stop someone from claiming a broken tool that they never even had? They must require some sort of original purchase receipt, correct?

They probably do it through your account and see your proof of purchase. Then if you go to a Truck and try to excahnge it again theyll see the warrantied item in the account history and call you out on it...

My first and only experience with Snap On warranty was as easy as could be.

My old (maybe 20yrs old now) S710 ratchet finally gave up so I called, gave the lady a little info and received a rebuild kit in just a few days. No proof, verification or anything necessary. I didnt even have to pay shipping which really surprised me more than anything else.

I have an old ssd4 snappy screwdriver that I picked up a while ago and the blade is in pretty bad shape, when I type that number in online it comes up with the instinct hard handle does anyone know if I can tell the warranty number I want a green or orange handle or will they give me nos black handle or just the plain red and black instinct handle? I am going to try and call tomorrow.

Thanks!

I have purchased Snap On since 1969. All my tools, boxes, etc. were bought right off the truck. Any time a tool failed, I handed it to my dealer, & he immediatly replaced it, or if he was out of the item, ordered me another. Never, ever had a problem.

Unless they have changed their policy since I retired they will only replace the blade. You keep the handle you have.
