Mt. Shasta is more like Mt. St. Tap Water. A lot of bottled water is standard municipal tap water with no additional filtration. Instead of being sent into the main distribution system, it gets bottled. One of the Chicago TV News investigative reports was about bottled water and how it's such a ripoff.
I just got my water bill today. $19.11 for 5,000 gallons. Add in sewer ($16.24), trash collection ($15.09), hydrant surcharge ($3.80), and sales tax ($1.34) and the total bill is about $56. Makes me curious what other people pay a month for water and sewer. We use the ice and water dispenser on our refrigerator all the time. It takes a $39 filter which gets replaced about once a year give or take.
My bill is usually around $90.00-$100.00 a month. And we do not use that much water. It is just my wife and I and then the apartment.
This is why people are moving out of Michigan... crappy economy and an artificially high cost of living.
