So ever since I was a kid... I always wanted a big bad Snap On Toolbox. For a good part of my life, it was only a dream. Then as I got older..and started to make $$$... It was possible for me to buy one. But I just never could shell out the 3-4k for a good used one, or the 6-xxk for a new one. I just couldn't do it. I'd always end up with a big Craftsman, Kobalt, or some other type of tool box. I spend the $$ on Tools instead
I joined Garage Journal about a year ago when looking for a new work bench Plan. I've always been a Garage kinda guy, but this just put me in over drive. I read on here almost ever night. And I started filling out my garage wth all the tools I always wanted. Biz has been good for me over the last couple years, and I've enjoyed being able to buy tools I wanted.
One of my Businesses is called TexasBuyMyRide. I buy cars from people who are broke down. I either fix/ReSell, or I Junk them. I start doing this at my house, until I found myself with 14 cars on my street, and I live in a really nice neighborhood. It was Time to get a shop....and a whole new place to fill with tools!!
1st thing on my list was a BIG BAD TOOL BOX. I started seaching CL high and Low. Then I found it..... this Classic 96 was only 6mo old. and FULL of tools.. The guy wanted to trade for an Older 4x4 for Hunting..
3 days before.. I bought a 93 Bronco. The Cleanest 93 you've ever seen in your entire life. MINT...inside and out. No Keys. Didn't know if it would start. And Trans had some kinda issue... I paid $200 for it. Pulled it home on my Flat bed. While still on the flat bed I drilled out the ignition. went to AutoZone..put a new cylinder/keys for $14.95. and it Started right up. (with a jump). hauled it to ****** shop. Trans was ok. just needed a gasket (was out of fluid), and some work on the 4x4 hubs. Total bill $460. so 200+15+460 = $675.
This guy LOOOOVED my truck. I traded him even up. Its FULL of matco, Snapon, Mac, and Blue point Tools. hand tools, air Tools, Etc.
The guy bought all of this stuff, then got a job working for the city, and they bought him a new box.
Here is a pic of my 1st "Real Box" What do you think?
