3 phase wiring problem

So i bought a Phoenix phase converter of c/l a while back and the magnetic switch had a broken tang on it so i replaced it.
I got it all wired up and hit the switch and i can hear the motor start up but the magnetic contact switch jumps in and out?
Any clues?

Are you using the generated leg of the 3p to hold in the relay? I've had problems with contactors in machines that had the generated leg going to the control circuit.

I`m am no sparky mate how about i post up a pic of the whole box. Like i said all i`ve done is change the switch and connect up the 3 phase legs to the places the diagram said to.

Don't think I can help here, only add that It sounds like the contactor isn't working properly as stated above. Are the directions from Phoenix?

Do you have a schematic of the box you can post up? I looked at the web site and could not find one.

No and the company will not give one out all they say is to send it back to them?
I think that's ****** service my self.
The wires from the idler motor are wires in to the connection that the outlets are wired to it`s the bottom left pic the green,white ,red & black with red being the ground to the box.
As far as i know all the feeds to the contractor are from the capacitors then on the other side back to the single phase 480 in feed top row far right.

Is this being fed from 480V? If so the cap in pic #5 shows 250v limit? I might be reading this wrong?

Sounds like too much capacitance. Is the load compatible with the converter?

Its a 10 hp converter for a 5 hp grinder.
I talked to the tech (finally got through) and he told me to check the voltage at the contact switch.
But i don`t have a volt meter for 480 volts so i`ll harass a mate tomorrow and borrow his.
