anyone know where to find? I can find Williams Proto and a few others here locally but Armstrong seems to have dried up.
the 2 screws that hold the seal plate came loose and I lost a couple parts..

Is it the Armstrong 3/4 with two large springs? If so proto springs will work I have a 1/2 Armstrong and a 1/2 proto and the only thing that won't swap is the main gear. I am talking about the two spring style.

Amazon shows kits for 3/4" drive Armstrong ratchets, what model # is your ratchet? It lists the rebuild kit as 13-990 and says it fits ratchets 13-972 & 21-972 but it isn't cheap !
www.handsontools.com has the same kit but a couple $$ more than Amazon.

IDK, I would have to take my other one apart to find out what all pieces are supposed to be in there it has been laying in my drawer for too long in pieces, and I think I may have lost a piece or 2

update I just did a Google search for the kit I needed; prices were all over the board going as high as $76 I found a place called "Alpine Industrial Sourcing" and ordered one for $44.76. Some sites showed this kit as discontinued the kit is Armstrong P/N 13-966.
I did find it at fastenal.com and they had it online for $55-some and they had a place to enter my zip to see if any store within 25 miles had it and they don't I was at fastenal asking yesterday and they said they dont handle them any more...
I wonder why they didn't look on their own company website...
man I am not happy about having to buy a rebuild kit for a rachet that is supposed to be lifetime warrantied; but buying the kit keeps the rachet body/handle from being a doorstop I guess....

An update; Alpine industrial is out of Quincy IL I happened upon them by Google search and ordered that kit online (I hate ordering that way I like traditional ovetr the counter better) the guy just called; though their site showed stock in this kit, they have none and are getting it direct from Armstrong said it would be 2-3 weeks....

thanks; I got a kit ordered from an Industrial supply house that is supposed to be here the 1st week of Feb, I then found a link to a kit (thanks Somner52000) on Ebay for a much better price but IDK if it is complete; it is a much better price than the kit I ordered IF everything I need is there; the guy told me what was in the box but didnt seem to know either if it was a complete kit... I need to dig and find an exploded view to see if it is....

most places want $70-some for the same kit I had a line on one for $44 but they were outta stock and had to order it,

Well, sounds like their warranty would cover it; can't hurt to try, you may get a free kit or a whole new ratchet out of the deal... worth a shot!

well, I got the kit from Ebay; and it did have both springs in it (they were just coiled together) it looks 'all there" I have just "put it all aside" for the time being; but now that I have my kit, I am gonna put this unit back together; I think I see how it all goes, I'm gonna take the cover plate off my other one (I have 2 of these ratchets here) I just hope the springs don't fly.

I just got off the phone with Armstrong and asked to see if they could send me a pic so I dont have to take my other one apart..
the guy at Armstrong said "they don't make kits no more, just return it for a new ratchet" and I guess I would be gettin a diferent unit.. I guess mine supersedes to a 13-972.
he asked me where I got the kit and I told him "Ebay".
I then told the rep that I have a fastenal 5 miles from me and I did go there 1st; and that the 3 idiots there told me "we are getting away from Armstrong since they were bought out and if I have a reciept they may be able to exchange it for a different brand" and the rep on the phone said "well there's a training issue on Fastanal's part it seems" so he told me to go back and tell them to give me a 13-972 in place of my 13-906 and call them if any issues.

Since I spent the $20 (which was cheap, as these kits go) I'll just rebuild this one this time, and remember that for next time

MAC needs to take a lesson from this as well; I have a 1/2" one of theirs that has been rebuilt multiple times now, by 3 different MAC reps and they refuse to replace it for me.... I get anywhere between 4 and 6 uses out of that MAC before I get smashed knuckles from it... but they will not give me a new one.

Heck, I would take the new one! That way you will have access to new parts in the future! Looks like a nice design!

Fastenall in my area ***** as well; I tried to warranty some Gearwrench stuff, they told me if I didn't have a receipt and bought it from them, I was SOL. Good luck and let us know how the Fastenall warranty process works or doesn't work out for you. If you hassle you; you; I would just call Armstrong back and request the service be done directly through them. Hope it all works out! Keep us posted!
