Thanks I know I have read about these boxes a lot recently but the OP for this thread was the first time I saw a size listed. There is a guy local that has the KR655 for $600 the pict looks rusty and has some angle iron bolted onto it. So either of these boxes would work nice with my KR537, so I have other numbers to look for besides the KR557. Ultimately I hope to give this to my son as a starter if he ever goes to school.

I'm terrible with model number, but I think I know what you are getting at. SO is fairly good with standarizing sizes of their boxes. The kr557 are the taller standard heigh where as a 537 is shorter, I think by one deep drawer. Width and depth is the same. It is basically like comparing a 1022 to a 7022, the 7022 is 4" shorter, thats it.

He's got a really nice snap on at work......nice box man I'm super jealous I'd like to have one of those to take place of my matco 4s at the shop. Does that have roller bearing slides or are they the friction.

Jealous here for sure. Hey, you need a step stool to see inside the top. I wish that width of box were more common. Enjoy.
