So I recently decided to buy new wrenches. Most of mine are hand me downs from my dad and there chiwanese ( he was neer much of a handyman). I have starting replacing my tools and have some Craftsman but I now have the money for nicer ones. I am going Snap on 12pt but not sure whats the most bang for my buck. Should I go Flank Drive or Flank drive plus or flex head? Im probably going comination I know that unless theres a reason i shouldnt.

I appreciate it. My nest question is open ended, rachet or combination? I work on engines frequently but not daily and four wheelers plus the occasional lawnmower. Im leaning towards the standard flank drive, I cant justify the plus' extra cost

Have a look at the Williams Supercombo wrenches; they're made in the same factory as their Snap-on brothers.

With Williams, just pay attention to COO. Williams basically has two lines, import and USA. They themself are not bashful about where stuff made, but vendors seem to mix it up pretty offten. Just check Williams website before ordering any. As to which style to get, start simple, simple combo wrenchs, get ratcheting later. Personally I think the FD+ open end is overated. All box end wheter on FD+ or normal wrenches are flank drive. I'm not going to talk you out of SO, they are the wrenches I use day in day out, but I really like my set of Wright grip.

The main thing I don't like about them is that they're hard to disengage from the nut sometimes. I'll have to turn the wrench back a little ways to unhook it from the nut. It gets caught on the corner as I'm pulling it away.
