(DEAD) Mayhew Dominator Pry Bar Set ~1/2 off!

Product LINK

Amazon has the Mayhew 3 pc Dominator pry bar set for $26.54 - about half as much as everywhere else if you factor in shipping (Amazon ships for free).

It comes with 7" 12" and 18" pry bars.

Are these the same as this Cman set?

EDIT: Deal is dead, price went back up to $50.

DAMN that's a good price. Stop with all these deals!!
I prefer those grips over the hard handles.

I have the Mayhew Cat's Paw and they are excellent; just a pain to clean the soft grips ... The Craftsman are real easy to clean (hard plastic).

Not the Cman pros. They are a soft grip as well. The regular Cman are easy to clean though.

No, the handles are shaped differently and the handle feels like different material. I think western forge may make the craftsman set.
That is an excellent price on the Mayhew set and one should pounce on the deal if you can afford it and need prybars.

Cman set are longer - 12, 17, and 25.
Ah. Gotcha.

Hmm. For some reason I was under the impression that the handles were similar. Ah well.

Thanks for the info!

Mayhew makes the Craftsman professional pry bars but they may not be exactly the same as the Dominator pry bars they sell under their own name. I have never compared the two side by side.

Mayhew also makes the standard red handled Craftsman prybars but I believe Wilde Tool may supply these as well.

The Mayhew Cat's Paw Prybars are imported.

Hmm, so does Mayhew make the red handled pry bars, or does Western Forge? I looked at them and IIRC they have a stamp that says "MD" on them. I also have an old no name one with a blue handle that has the same stamp (I found it at a flea market).

Stay on this board 24*7 from now on. :lol_hitti

Anyway, I did not order it either. I just do not find the need to use a prybar. Plus, my toolbox is not big enough to hold them.

You need one!! If you work on cars you will need one!!

I bought a Craftsman set feeling kind of dumb becuase I figured I wouldn't ever use them. Needed em the next day on a CV boot job, needed em the next week on a floor, and used em quite a bit for doing body work, tensioning belts, and popping hubcaps.

This deal is back on, except it's even lower at $24.69 w/4 left.

I just bought the S/0 black-handled 36" myself. And a black-handled awl that was NOS that had a slightly different handle (not like the 60's stylescrewdriver handles that I really like the looks of).

I have had my Snappy set since the early 1990's and I never stored them in my box, mine hung on the side of my box in an inexpensive rack that was made for them by Snappy, so that's no reason! :bounce:

FWIW, there is an extension for Mozilla FireFox called "PriceDrop" that tracks Amazon item prices.

Once you install the add on, go to any amazon item page and there will be the option to "track this item". I dont know how often it checks pricing but Ive gotten updates throughout the day on some items, so its pretty frequent.

I haven't had a problem with the set of 3 from HF for $7, and thats the good Pittsburgh set, not the cheap $4 set. ;)

Next pry bar I want is one of those with the pivoting teardrop thing.

MAD,

I'm with you on the Mayhew connection (series code = Z). But I have never seen any Craftsman prybars with the Wilde series code (series code = P). Do you have any, or have you seen any? If so, approximate date please.

Something I just looked at in the local Sears Hardware had a code of "P" on them, but for the life of me I cant remember what!!! Wondering if it were the Craftsman Pro prybars or screwdrivers.
