It has been cold here. Like over 20 F feels warm type of cold. Garage was closed for the season until I bought this Subaru with a spun rod bearing. Bought a construction heater, rebuilt the engine and finished it this morning. Time to shake it down and sell it when the next snow storm comes.

Had Monday and Tuesday off work. Did Disney on Ice with my daughter and wife and then built a fire and stayed inside. Tuesday taught my one boy how to use the snowblower, so that I don't have to always be the one to do the work. Took the wife to the range for her first time shooting. Hoping to get in the garage this weekend

Did some steel line replacement on the 51 HenryJ. All the rubber lines fall apart. First is the line from the block to the oil filter and then some shots of the gas line, all done off rolls. I did the gas line in two pieces to save my mind trying to fit around things. I still need to finesse the line above the front of the rear spring.

Left my yellow plastic dust pan on top of my airtight stove and of course it melted and I scraped it off with a square steel shovel and put the shovel in the stove and melted it off the shovel. Quite a mess and smell for awhile. The court is out on who left the dust pan on the stove...5/8ths denies any involvement. This will take awhile to live down since she discovered the meltdown. PS: no alcohol was involved. :spit::spit:

Yes it has been cold here. I am just north of you and I am ready for some warmer weather. I was listening to the radio in the shop the other night and they mentioned that this is the coldest winter in Salt Lake City since 1996.

Got a '98 harley FLHTC fired up for the first time in 8 years (lots more to do), tore down a YZ 85 Super mini top end that has issues (not My work) and then drank a few beers with a friend that stopped.

Used my "new to me" shop crane. I think it is going to be worth the $100.00 I gave for it.

Picked up my tools and looked at the mess after my brother and his buddy used my hoist to do some repairs on a truck. Then went into the office, had a beer and rehearsed their **** chewing.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

I recently inherited a million tools so I have been spending the past week going through all of them and putting sets together... I have way to many tools and not enough garage space! Sounds crazy I know but you have to see what im working with! The best part is there is alot of vintage snap on tools so ive been having a blast hooking them up!

Put up some pics so we can see what it's like to "inherit" tools -

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

As per post#3043....required pics.First two are a simple resaw fence.

The kids dragged an old treestand up from woods and parked it on dock........Uhhh,that would be a mistake, haha.I chopped it up for framework of above fence. It had 30 years of rust so Rustolem rusty metal primer was used(15% cut with Acetone).

The last pic is a pce of Poplar that was layin on bench. Its shot with the above primer....and an extremely "hurried" Lacquer CC.It won't fool anyone thats savy in nice furniture "finishes"...But i've shown it to a cpl guys in the biz. They knew it wasn't "typical" but would've bet money it WASN'T cheapchit primer!

So,next time you're spraying some red oxide primer....find a pce of wood and try it.

I pounded out some dents and removed some rust from a nice old Proto toolbox that I found at the Swap Meet for $5. I also removed a ton of hair, string, and gunk from our vacuum, yuck! :D

Separated a bunch of metal going to the recycler in a bit. Clean brass and aluminum (no steel bolts, screws, and junk) get more $.

Completed all the wiring, which is in conduit, on the north wall of my garage. The upper run of receptacles are on a switch for signs and misc., but a couple of them are split, so they can remain hot for clocks and such. This run includes the switched hooded sign light for my 66" GULF sign that's up in the gable.

I cleaned my Miller 251 welder inside and out. I blew the dust out of the innards and the spool gun, and gave the blue part of the cabinet a coat of wax. Yes, I admit it, I waxed my welder...

Fire at will :)
