Nice shop, Turbo fan here as well! 335i and TDi Jetta in the stable currently, but have had all kinds of Turbo fun like my 94 RX-7 with a big single turbo conversion.

X...

Thank you and nice cars! Your RX-7 looks fantastic- I've always longed for one!

Love your garage....wish I could have built a little room above my shop area.

Thank you sir! Yes, the upstairs sure comes in handy. I never had any storage room in the past and it forced me to be extra creative and efficient with bins, etc. Have a good one!

Hey Guys,

Here's the latest video where we leave the old garage for some pretty crazy "virtual" racing. Thanks for checking it out!

Thank you! I have seen a couple like that and they are nuts. I tried one at SEMA a few years ago and got pretty motion sick. Thankfully I don't get any feelings like that when driving this one.

Love it Tom! Did the Giant Lego man help?

Thank you! Oh, yeah Torch the giant Lego man is always willing to help! Unfortunately his definition of "helping" includes drinking one too many gin and tonics, becoming quite belligerent and then peeing in your coffee when you aren't looking. :)

Absolutely love the garage, the youtube blog, and all of the cars. Sad to see the Miata go though, what a great car you had put together!

Thank you madmatt! I do miss the Miata. I've got big plans for another one someday though. Something almost exactly along these lines: :rocker:

Hello Everyone!

Here's the latest episode of Tom's Turbo Garage, where we talk about the history of the 1987 Buick Grand National and then take a closer look at mine. Thanks for checking it out!

Nice overview video of the GN! Looking forward to upcoming episodes detailing your work on the GN.

I received the Black Air video for Christmas from my wife and it's inspired new interest in my car too. I'm planning a nose to tail assessment of my car this spring, purchased mine used in 1992. I need to start thinking of restoration items as well as performance upgrades. I used to race occasionally and showed for several years, actually have a 2nd and 3rd place plaques for stock T type Regal class from the GN Nationals in Bowling Green, KY from back in the early 2000's. Car never made it out of the garage this last year due to new job at work and too many other interests, but that's gonna change this year!

Thank you! The color scheme was completely inspired by folks who posted their work on here. Love this forum!

Newbie here, just trawling through all the fantastic garage builds on this great forum.

Yours, Sir is one of my favourites. Your attention to detail is great.

Also loving the cars (although my turbo is from the Subaru 'dark side' ;))

Thank you! There are just too many great things to see in this forum. As for the cars, I love Subarus too! I came very close to buying a WRX many times over the years and still dream about making a really fast STi powered 2.5RS coupe.

I tried to send you a PM but I'm not sure if it went through, I may need more posts before it does. Anyway, here's a link to my car. I took the easy way out and bought one swapped, would love to swap one myself but not sure when/if I'll have the time.

Very nice attention to details. I was wondering if you could share some information about the garage door rails and opener in the cathedral bay.
Did you need a different spring on the axle? Is ithe opener a Liftmaster Elite 3800?
How did you match the rails to the slope of the ceiling?
Thanks

Thank you! I must admit that the garage door company handled the details on matching the slope of the ceiling, rails and springs. As for the opener, it is a side mount (or jackshaft) Liftmaster 3800. It's a superb opener and extremely quiet too.

This thread makes me miss my old 4g63t Colt and 1GA TSi. Awesome setup, I really like the loft and room for a lift.
