You can't beat the MG325 I love it. I needed a 3/8 impact so I checked out all the trucks and IR's and none felt as good. Plus I love my MG725 so Snap On has convinced me they can make good air tools.

My mg325 came with a muffler. Just foam and a plate with holes in it. I had to put it in as the tool was way too loud. Unfortunatly its pretty gutless now. I say if your not happy give it back and see if he has a quieter model.

The Snap-On MG guns are great. They are both powerful guns (the 1/2 and 3/8). I like the Snappy guns because they have a 'trigger brake' whereas the IR guns continue to spin when you release the trigger. Id rather not have to hold the gun down to prevent the bolt I am removing from flying off somewhere into the shop. I used the 3/8 gun a lot for disassembly of components. Its smaller and lighter than the 1/2" and almost as powerful.

Thats just my opinion on them. I really do like that black IR Titanium gun or whatever it is... IR makes a real nice compact gun with plenty of power and theyre quiet... I just dont like that they continue to spin after trigger release.

Cornwell CAT2150 is what I use for a 3/8 gun. I am not sure on the noise level, I don't pay attention to that sort of thing since I use the guns at work and there is always noise.

I have used it to loosen crankshaft bolts, wheel nuts, suspension bolts, etc... It is my worth horse gun. I use it exclusively with craftsman chrome 3/8 sockets and never had any damage to the gun or the sockets for going on 10 months.

I think I paid around $230 or $240 for it, its been while, but no issues with a gun. If it matters the gun runs on at my shop on a 80 Gallon compressor with about 155 psi being fed to it.

Depends on the condition but a used one can be found for under $170.

Rebuild is $124 I just got mine done 2 weeks ago from snap on mail in. So factor that into the price of any used one you buy it may need a rebuild right away or soon. These are wear items and they have been out for several years.

How do you like it? Snap on guy says their flat rate rebuild tools come back "good as new", but I always like to confirm that with someone who doesn't stand to profit from it.

Good to know. I've been considering a used one from ebay. Knowing the flat rate rebuild cost helps me determine what I'm willing to bid to.

I may be best of bidding on the cheapest ugliest beat up POS, and going straight to the flat rate rebuild, instead of looking for the used one that looks least worn.

Did they refinish the exterior on it as well?

Mine was not beat up much cause I had a boot on it from day one. They do not reprint them from what I have seen. Had a mg725 rebuilt a couple years ago and they didn't reprint that one either, if the housing was cracked or something maybe thy would give you a new fresh one

I'm keeping my eye out for a used one that's just totally trashed that I can get for cheap and have it flat rated. I already have one perfectly good small impact, so I can't justify full list for a second one.
