Derrick,
Too bad you've an uneven number of tiles in that pattern because I'd have suggested a 4 tiles x4 tiles black & white pattern. The 1x1 black & white pattern looks too busy in my opinion. In a small space I'd suggest keep it "simple" on the floor. Love Racedeck though. I like the blue design element too. Great job so far!

The garage demensions are actually 11' 6" wide and 21' 8" long. Then, the last 3' down towards the garage door, the width goes down to 11" exact So, I'll have to cut 6" or so off the row along most the side wall and a bit off the the end. I see what you mean about it being busy. Once I get the tiles, I could try laying them like this. (picture below), since I should be using the same amount of each color.

Derrick,
I apologize again for being bossy. I admit I like the less busy version much more but hey, it's YOUR MONEY! Do what truly please you. We'll love it because you've got nice taste as already demonstrated in this thead.

Andyaus, We have to have our tax returns submitted to the government by April 15th.

Oh don't worry, I have a little something up my sleeve for that project.

We filed our taxes already. I'm hoping they get directly deposited into my bank account in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks Derrick!

Sometimes I'm quick to offer an opinion and later I think, "I should mind my own business and go work on my own damn garage"

I JUST e-submitted my tax returns yesterday. The only garage related thing I'm going to buy is a big tank of gas for my MIG welder (Hobart Handler 140) so I can finally get off my **** and do the rust repairs on my '55 Chevy truck.

I've REALLY been lazy since summer ended and have done very little in my garage - but you notice that doesn't make me keep my mouth shut!:dunno:

I got some great ideas from you guys, so I'm running with them. Still lots to do but, this is what I got done tonight. Tomorrow I am plan on painting the the edges of the cabinet doors high gloss black and put another coat on the door jam/trim and window trim/frame. I'd also like to picture frame my pegboard with some high gloss black trim. Oh, and did I mention the ole lady gave me the go ahead on the "Tuffshield"! whoo hoo! Holy sh*t, its 3:30 in the morning. I better get to bed.

Looks like "someone" has already beaten you to the workbench revamp! Your space is taking shape nicely. I look forward to seeing what you do with the bench.

Thanks. That kid loves playing in the garage. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Derrick, If I may offer (another fricking) opninon?

COnsider painting the work bench legs the same gray and possibly that brown wooden cabinet to the right. I think I MIGHT take the blue stripe right across the lower part of the pegboard too. Will anything hide that dryer duct after its done?

The place just looks fantastic copared to where it started. You ought to be very proud!

The cabinet you speak of was originally going to get moved back out to the shed. Allthough it does actually fit under the work bench. I could place it in front of the vent. I probably will end up painting it more than likely. As forthe the blue stripe, it probably would have looked good had I painted the peg board white.

I am totally getting the lust for a one car garage!! We are seeing some especially well done ones on here like yours!!! There is a lot to be happy about in the work you have done and it looks wonderful. Right now there are about three or four like yours in the works on GJ and it is going to be hard to pick the best, hey let's call them all the best. What I am seeing is the ability to have a super garage, and in compact form, but yet one that can offer most anything we really need. I have for the last few years been caught up in the "downsizing" trends, and I see so much good in it. I have a big shop now, but I am loving the one car style!! In the future I will be thinking of selling my place and going to a (condo?) with a one car garage, being if it is possible to find one that does not fully resemble apartment living. Nothing wrong with apartment living, but you have to pick and choose carefully on those. I have seen some really good possibilities for one car garages and yours has inspired me to the peak! Thanks and best wishes in the future.

Once you get that Race Deck flooring in there i'm sure he will love playing in there even more, and it may even be safer as well.

Nice work! I have a single car garage too and it isn't drywalled. Seeing the absolute difference it made in yours makes it certain that I will drywall mine.

I appreciate the kind words. I was checking your garage out as well and really enjoyed looking through the pictures.

Great shot of the helper, you have come a long way with this revamp, I hope to make mine look that nice.
Thanks! Here is a shot of him doing some jack hammering.

Great job!

Thanks alot!

Yeah, were pretty excited. I have six samples that he plays with. I told him were getting another 246 of them and he had this look of amazement on his face. Lol

My little guy loves playing on my garage's RD floor. LOVES IT!

I remember seeing your little one in his toy car, he looked to be having fun out there!

Thanks, i would suggest putting a vapor barrier between the insulation and drywall. I did not, because i didnt know what i was doing. Lol In hindsight, i definitely should have. No issues yet, but its only been about 6 months so far.

I have insulation on the ceiling and a vapor barrier up but no drywall yet. Soon enough for the sides....hopefully, lol

I ordered my Racedeck floor today, should here on Wednesday!

Exciting! Now don't scrrew it up, ha ha. I'm kidding of course.

Based on what you started with, what are your wife, family, neighbors saying about it so far? I'm betting the reaction goes waay over the top once the racedeck goes down.

Installing my RD floor, was probably the highlight of my entire "garage journey". I'm sure it will just blow you (and us) away.

Haha, your funny Dan. She likes as much as i by. I do get alot of rubberneckers that drive by. Usually when someone new sees it, their just "wow" or "you did this?"

I know just what you mean. Its like putting a nice set of aftermarket wheels on a car or truck. It changes the attitude big time.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it:

I'd LOVE to have Racedeck but honestly can't afford it. Or maybe it's that I shouldn't afford it.

I'm still thinking of ceramic tile as I've found it locally for as low as $0.69 a sq. ft. at Home Cheapo. I've seen Jack's in person and it honestly looks great despite all the work he does in there.

Does Jack know that you were in his garage? Haha. Just kiddin. Yeah, the tiles do look pretty good!

Yeah, I've been in his twice. Afterwards, I go home and throw rocks at mine!

I've got a bit more space than he does but I just don't have the vision, talent, organizational skills or whatever it his he has. I WANT to have it, but I just don't.

(But I'm not above just copying things I like!:dunno:)
