I've wanted a tool chest for a while now, and found this scratch and dent one at Home Depot for $148 (27"). Was originally $250, and it was the last one they had.

Congrats! Sharp looking box and a good price to boot. Nothing like your first toolbox...

Enjoy filling it up! Search this site for ideas for tool organization. Lots of good socket rails etc. posted.

My son in law got the same deal on the same box a while back. After checking it out, I wish I would have beat him to it! A great unit.

Yes, its just hard to beat for that price. I got a bud in the auto repair biz has a box similar, after 25 yrs still using it and a service cart, About 300 in boxes in investment over a career, always bought enough to do the job where his duty cycle was hi and bought one off items vs full sets of everything they ever invented. Didnt have to store it all and didnt have to pay for it. I borrowed his bubble flair one too many times a while back and he called me and said,,, keep it,,,, just bought you one from the parts store on your account,,, ha, but 50$ and it has worked for the few times we needed it.

Top and bottom? Stellar deal! Unfortunately, as you put tools in it, the multiply, and fast! Soon, youll be on the hunt for another/bigger box. Lol.

Yeah, I think I might be pretty full already. Trying to figure out how I want to organize it all now. I bought some socket organizers and a wrench organizer for now. Need to get socket organizers for my 1/4 & 1/2 sockets still, then 1/2 impacts and specialty sockets. Also looking to organize screwdrivers.

I know the two Home Depots around here have been letting the top/bottom combo go for 178.** plus tax if they're still in store. That's the same as the online pricing, except you pay for shipping. So check around your stores and see if they've got any left.

My wife and I wound up getting two of the all black top boxes from that set-up from Home Depot for 50 bucks a pop. They're the right level of quality for what they will be used for.

Fantastic - it will last forever. You will out grow it, but it will serve you as long as you care to have it.

I still have my first Craftsman box - still does what its supposed to do.
