Well, i've always wanted a car lift, but my garage,, is very typical of a Las Vegas home. It *****, very small, short ceiling. The house, doesn't have any storage. Most people park their cars outside, and store all their **** in the garage. i refuse to do that.
Well, thanks to the boyz at BEND-PAK, they have a solution for those of us in NEED.:beer:

The SP-X7 is a scissors lift,, that can fit within the profile of a compact car,,, and if you have the ceiling height,,, it can lift 7000 lbs over 6ft in the air. Well,, i can only lift mine 3ft,, but, it's way COOL. I had to use a shoe-horn to stuff it into my garage.

Here are a few photos...

Whats the weight capacity of it? Looks like a neat set up for certain garages.

You are gonna love it. Everything from oil changes to brakes to detailing is easier with it at ride height. And the scissors have advantages over post lifts - that being right out of the way! I wish I room for one as well!

What is the distance,, between the wheels,,, on a Miata? Because,,, this lift is adjustable,,, where it lifts on the under neath of the car. I can STREEEEEEETTTCH it out to lift my F-250 extended cab (i thought that was cool... but,,, i only got to go about 3",,,, since my pick-up,,, barely squeaks,, in the garage door opening.

But the lift has the capacity up to 7000 lbs,,,, and my 3/4 ton,,, tips the scales at 6500 with some fuel.

:D

I too looked at a lift like yours...my issue is ceiling clearance of only 100"
How tall is your celing?

My ceiling is 8'6",,,,,, (102") but i loose,, 14" because of my garage door,, directly overhead of my car. So,, i get to raise my car to the first safety notch. Which is fine,,, that puts,, the lifting platform 34" off the floor,, and you have to raise the car just a little to release the safeties,,,, it can actually to to 38" off the floor,, before i start to get close to the underside of my garage door. This is also, almost, the 2nd safety notch.

but,, it's great,, for rolling around,, on a creeper seat... changing oil,,, rotating tires......

i have no regrets after 3 weeks!!!

up date to my garage is a shoe box. I have raised my garage door,, installed a LIFTMASTER 3800 direct drive opener. Elevated my garage door tracks,, and thus added 11" of height to my door,,, which means,, i can now get 48" of height outa' my lift at platform level. (during this time i put lights on the door)

Now, cut the floor and drop it down flush so you're not tripping over it whne the car isn't in there. Most cars are very close width wise so that shouldn't cause any problems.
