Picked up a set at Freehold Raceway Mall. Came up at $19.99, but I showed the cashier the price on my phone and she pushed it through at $17.99. Thank!!

Thanks for the tip. I've been waiting for them to drop down to $20. They were marked $19.99 at my local Sears hardware but rang up at $17.99. They were also doing a "Friends and Family" after 6p today (they were staying open to 9p). If I had waited another 30 minutes, I could have got another 10% off.

I got in on the Friends and Family event last night as well. Picked up the gasket scrapers as well as the pry bar set. Oh and a new grill with cover and natural gas conversion!!!!

Haha, damn I have the HF set. I use them rarely, but when I do I use them hard.

I would have liked this set though.

I picked up a set yesterday. Very robust construction, handles fit in my hand well. The three different length bars will provide a wide range of usage. Possibly one of my top tool purchases considering price and quality. Made in America, with lifetime warranty, it doesn't get any better.

IMO the set is a steal at 20-bux. Grab a set if you haven't.

Oh don't you worry, I got my 19.99 prybar set. Went to Sears today killing some time and swung by the tools. They still had the tag up so I figured the sale was still going on. Wasnt until I got home I figured out I was overcharged by 20 bucks (bought other stuff so didn't notice at checkout). Went back and got my 20 bucks.

I will say that I am VERY happy with this set of "big screwdrivers" Comes in handy more than I thought it would. This is my first set of "actual" pry bars

Damn you guys...I bought mine today. I don't need them for anything and had no intention of buying them, lol.

I got them for 19.13 after using some points. I figured I should get them while they're still made in the good 'ol U.S. of A.

You'll find a use for them. Now stop using your screwdrivers as a prybar!

HAHA...how'd you know? That's why I have a busted up flathead in just about every nook and cranny of my garage.

In all seriousness, I do own a few demo style pry bars for pulling nails and whatnot, but I have never owned a decent set for auto/mechanical use.

Thanks for the heads-up guys!

It goes on sale every couple of months. At $20 you won't find a better pry bar set. I just picked it up for $10 using my shop your way points.

I have been watching these for a month or so after reading the above. Got mine yesterday, and expect to be very happy with them!

I always liked my HF prybars until I bought this set a year or so ago.

Well worth $20!

WAY better! These are WELL WORTH the $20. I am tempted to buy another set. You can use and abuse these bars are much as you want, they will not bend, crack, chip, deform, or whatever else you can think of.

I am pretty sure this has been posted earlier in the thread, but for those who have not seen it, here is a video of the Wilde Tool Plant, and how they make these bars;

I decided to go and check for myself if these bars were in fact out of stock...nope...5 sets sitting right there. That means that they cancelled my order for no reason at all. I bought my set tonight, but I am about done with Sears. I don't know how they came to the conclusion that my store was out of stock. It said 5 in stock on the website, a call would have produced the same answer, so was it a lie or just complete incompetence? The fact that they had no intention of even telling me the order was cancelled is very aggravating. I had to send an email to customer service to find out what happened.

Probably someone too lazy or stupid to locate the item so they just selected "Out of stock".

To make it better their customer service suggested I reorder them when they come back in stock at regular price, they refused to honor the sale price...after complaining they offered a 5% discount (instead of the 50% sale).

Afterwards, I sent them an email telling them that the store was never out of stock and that I was able to buy them from the very same store.

Their response, "we're sorry...please order them again and we'll give you 10% off regular price."

HUH?!?! I already bought them jackass...Apparently tools aren't the only thing that Sears is sending overseas. A basic grasp of the English language would have made it obvious that I didn't need to buy another set, and why in the hell would 10% off vs 50% off make me any happier????

I know, I know...but it's still frustrating and I wanted to vent.

The last time I had an issue, I did eventually receive a $75 gift card.

They are noticeably thicker for one thing. I measured them with calipers when I bought them, and I'm thinking something like 30% thicker shank than the corresponding length HF prybars. Way less spring with the Craftsman prybars.
