I'm not sure whether its solvent or acrylic, but it doesn't matter because it isn't worth a **** !! I was skeptical about putting down a clear coat as I had never seen one that didn't lift, but they said this stuff was "new and improved", well it wasn't. It lasted about a year and now it is starting to lift. It did serve its purpose as far as keeping the cement from curing too fast, but if I had it to do over again, and if I had the money, I would do some kind of epoxy...........

Here's a slide show of the new garage going up..... It's a 48x30 pole building. I needed a garage quick for all my stuff from the old garage. The new house didn't have one and this was the quickest way to get er done.

So how is it holding up? who did you order it from... almost what I am interested in. trying to decide between a kit and building something similar with telephone poles instead of 4x4 / 6x6 etc

so far so good.............but its only been up for a little over 2 years. But my brother and my father have similar buildings that have been around for many years with no signs of problems. the company that put it up is called B&D Builders out of Lancaster,Pa. but there are companies in about every state that can do something similar. But if you are close to these guys, I recommend them !

I was in a hurry when I was framing the walls, so I didn't get any pictures of that. Here's the outside. The "roof" still needs finishing.

Just a word of caution... You may want to move that space heater away from the throne. I've read about them melting the wax rings if they're running too close.

Thanks, it may not be the biggest or best and there are surely nicer ones out there, but I could not be happier with how my garage is coming along!

Yeah, I've heard that too. Right now it's just sitting there. When it gets cold, I'll relocate it.

It's still a work in progress. Right now I have the 1/2 inch foamboard up that I plan to cover with metal and then I will use the blow in type insulation.

The compressor is right outside of the "library" so hopfully it won't scare the **** out of anyone, but if it does, they'll be in the right place !!

Thanks G-force.....here's my latest aquisition. I got a lift! Now I just have to find my measurements I took so I don't drill into my radiant heat tubing. Or maybe I'll wait until its working and try to find the tubing when its hot !! I have a deck to finish anyway!

Ol 55 Great garage and what a turnout for the get togeathers, I'll bet some lies were told then. You said you are going to put blown-in insulation over metal, keep in mind the cellulose type is treated with boric acid to discourage pests. I wasn't sure how or even if it would affect the metal ceiling.

I was at an auction recently that had a lift as one of the items. Not in the market - yet - for a two post (nowhere to put it) and my son (whose not quite 3) was bored to death (you who have younguns know what that means), so we took off. Don't even want to know what it went for. It was dark blue and covered with years of grime.. woulda been nice!

Dude... that is one sick garage! I love it! Interesting stuff, those pole buildings. I have no idea how they'd stand up here north of the 49th, esp where I am (low lying, 2' down it's all wet clay) but it's a nice way to get a building done quick, it seems! You mentioned not using concrete (when deciding to do your laneway in asphalt). Is that because of cost (I have no idea what the cost difference is - my laneway is gravel), or for other reasons?

babzog, I used the black top for the driveway because concrete has become very expensive down here. I do have some pic's from this years party, but the weather wasn't cooperating so there weren't many cars there.....
