Hi All

My name is Bartek, I come from Lodz, Poland, Europe.

I just bought a flat (multi flat building) and garage on the base floor. The garage is around 47m^2 with gives around 505.9 feet^2.

Stage 1 in progres:
- epoxy floor - DONE
- painting - To be done

Here are some photos and drawings. Still blank space but what i plan is to have good workbench, tool drawer, put my welding machine and my cross bike. but this will be stage 2 and stage 3. Also sport area for TRX and kettlebell will be designated.

I have also space for sink as water connection is already there.
Hope you like it

That's a great shop you've got started. Thanks for joining and sharing with everyone on GJ.

Curious what is construction of walls and ceiling as it looks like thick concrete? Looks super sturdy!! What is rest of house look like and built with considering that garage is so well built??

Keep the pics coming and a "teaser" pic every now and then of your rides.

Hi guys
overall it is the multi flat building, but thx god the company made garages on 0 floor, flats are on 1,2 and 3rd. The wall and ceiling is insulated to provide thermal insulation for flat above garage the rest of the walls have finishing on them ready to be paint. My flat is on 2nd so no problem there.
In poland 99% of constructions are brick and concrete.

Just curious, why is that? Regardless, you have the start of a really nice garage. I'll look forward to watching your progress. The red stripe looks great.

WOW !! Looking Great !!!!

Not just Poland, most of Europe. Part of it is the high price of lumber.

My guess is the metric version of an 10' 2x4 would be 3m 40mm by 80mm.

Verbel, what would one piece of lumber approximately that size cost ?

Do not know what size of timber is for construction use 3m 45x95mm - 4,8$, but using bricks and concrete is something that was done for years here. Just different mentality of the people - concrete equals solid. In mountain area most houses are part concrete part timber or full timber.

The cabinet and workbench is from swedish depot JULA. Decent quality for decent price.

Any idea for paint method for stripes? The walls finish is rough so there will be gaps between tape and wall surface. Maybe instead of using brush and roll, spray the paint.

That is very close to an American 10 foot, 2x4 inch lumber. About $4.10 locally.

$4.10US = 12.83 Polish Zlotys = 3.07€

Nice size 2 car garage, and a nice recessed area to set up your work area away from the cars. Welcome to GJ

Regarding the color scheme, i have to choose darker or lighter grey on the bottom of the wall, black or dark grey(graphite) stripe, ****** red or sth like this and mat white on ceiling and upper wall. What do you think would go the best with each other?

Very nice, wish we had more north American examples that take influence off the solid European construction.

Great space, i love how deep it is and the bump out is perfect for work space as mentioned above.

What do you think about making workbench from wood rather than buying one? I think making one gives you more freedom to incorporate sink into the workbench.

If go to the General discussion section and do a search for

painting stripes

It will return a few threads on the subject matter. It has been discussed a few times and some members have had some good results.

it depends on the shoes you use, it is epoxy flor soo it will always be a bit slippery. But when the oil or other **** will pour on the floor than no problem with cleaning.

yeah, pics are there.

I do not have much stuff to put into garage: 2 bikes and winter tires for audi. Maybe will weld something like tirerack in near future. Also need working bench so i can repair my yz250 cross bike engine.
I want to put some bigger cabinet and have bigger workbench with metal sink. Still not decided how to do it
