Use compression fittings a ton. Swagelok is across the street and top of the line so they get my primary business, but cost can be astronomical. Does anyone have recommendations of an alternative brand that would save a few bucks. Home depot no name brands are not an option. Just looking for something in between...

What are you trying to connect? I prefer using push to connect fittings whenever possible due to ease of use. I believe the last ones I used for some airlines were Eaton. Fastenal used to sell them.

I worked for a company that used Swagelok fittings on a lot products. We tried some less expensive competitors and they were cheaper for a reason.

Ours were SS so the less expensive ones had galling issues and corrosion testing showed tooling steel embedded in the surfaces.

This was 15 years ago, don't remember the brand name, I'll do some looking and see if I can find it.

General service in a plant setting. Overall swagelok has been great, its just a price issue. Was wondering of the competitors one stood out as damn near swagelok but a slight price break. Have used a few parkers, let lock and others, just not consistently enough to have a real opinion. Service can be anything from propane, air, nitrogen, oxygen or solvents and wastewater. The sheer amount of the things we use would be a huge saving to swap over just dont want to do it at cost of reliability. Push lock is only an option for me in extreme cases and temporarily.

McMaster-Carr sells Swagelok clones called Let-Lok.

So far, I've found them to be of acceptable quality, although maybe a small notch under Swagelok's.

FYI we use them for critical applications, so they are regularly tested to near their rated limits.

At my old company we used Swagelok for production and planned changes, and let-lok was usually ordered on an "as needed" basis, since it was a bit of a pain to make small Swagelok orders.

swadgelock charges that for a reason. They make a good consistent product. They are very high quality. That is all we use at work.

I know Swagelok also makes brass fittings. Im not sure if they are much cheaper than the stainless fittings, but that may be an alternative too. I know swagelok are great fittings, but they can have the same problems as the cheaper ones. I just got through replacing a manual valve plumbed with stainless lines that would not stop leaking. Once they start leaking, theres pretty much nothing you can do but replace them.

We have used Parker fittings on our offshore air compressor packages with some success. Most companies specify Swagelok; however, as you are finding out.

We use Swagelok predominantly, but also have used Parker on occasion with success. If the customer is willing to pay for Swagelok though, we will default to it.

Parker A-Lok: double ferrule; never had an issue with these; for fast purchases these are sold as Yor-Lok by McMaster

Hoke Gyrolok: double ferrule; claimed interchange with Swagelok and A-Lok; predecessors used these; have not seen problems with them.

I'm using Let-Lok from Ham-Let (www.ham-let.com) very high quality good prices and they have the same feel like Swagelok . They have many distributors just go on their web site and find the closest one. By the way if u buy McMaster u get the letlok brand.
