This is hammer tip replaceble?

I don't think the tips are removable, maybe our resident Snap-On dealer can fill us in!

I dunno if that hammer head is replaceable, but when I clicked on the link, I saw that the hammer only goes for $62.75. I was expecting a bronze hammer to go for more than that... esp. when I paid some $7x.** for my 24oz steel-faced one...

A hammer is designed to make things that don't want to move to move. How do you warranty a hammer that has been beaten to death? Wouldn't SO consider this abuse?? I have some plastic head SO hammers that need new ends. The last time that I asked, the dealer told me that they were considered consumables, and not warranted.. I am confused with this issue of consumables vs. abuse...

if heads are changeable then the are consumables... if its THAT red handle and not changable its usually warranty

abuse is when u get one of these hammers with the polyurethane ground down, or melting ... (i've seen it)

Does anyone know if a Craftsman softhead hammer is warrantied? I have one head missing and the other in bad shape. Can you buy replacements?

Is this the model you are referring to? According to the website; it is "guaranteed forever"! so take it in and get a new one! I don't see any replacement hammer "faces" for sale; we used to have some at the store but I haven't seen them in quite some time.

I have a HBT16 Orange predecessor I belive to the forementioned red one. Smaller punches, tend to leave little sharp pits in it (for lack of the correct term). Larger ones, like a solid brass punch, used to spin the retaining ring on a gas tank, tend to smooth out the pits, and cause the hammer to have that hammered finish. Mine hasn't been used enough to need replacement, but repeated use with smaller ones, is what I believe will cause the head to split.

I just searched and found this thread from 2008. I intended to see if I could mix and match the heads from my snap on hbbt16 with my SK hammer tips (same as relabeled nupla/craftsman hammer from above post) After reading this, it's a no go. The Snap On hammer tips are not removable. Felt I would relay this info incase anyone else had the same question.
