I wouldn't hold my breath. The ATD look to have some type of gold coloring to them, which I have never seen irwin do. Also irwin changed the case design several years ago. So either both ATD and irwin have old pictures, or just irwin. The only thing ATD rebadge that is half *** good is their toolboxes. I'm pretty sure they are Internationals. Other then that ATD is typical chicom.

yeah good point...well I guess they are knockoffs . I wonder if its worth trying them for that price! I was going to get the rebadged matco's because they are $50 more than irwins but have lifetime warranty. not to sure right now because I dont want ****

Ask your Matco driver about the warranty specifics on a tap & die set. When I got the 10 pc left-hand drill bit and extractor set my guy told me that only the drill bits from 1/4 and above could be warrantied.
Personally I would go with the Irwins, I've had the same tap set for over 10 years (Gearwrench) and have yet to need to replace any piece of it. As long as your holes are drilled/sized correctly, oil is used, and you have a quality tap/die most sets should last you a lifetime.

that clause on drill bit warranty has actually existed for a long time. You're certainly paying a premium but at the same time if you can become an impatient *** like me, drilling either too hard or too fast to just get the damn job done, you'll praise the fact that they'll swap broken bits for you.

ATD is all imported.
