I tore into my Son's 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager with 122K miles on it.
Hard to start, then when it does...Runs like complete Dog **** for 5-7 minutes.
Very Rich!
Was Cussin' out the Engineers who stuffed this 3.3L in sideways, trying to get to the back 3 plugs. I was told to remove the Manifold and even that was not going well....Until...I decided to check YouTube.
Turns out, if you remove the Hood, Wiper Arms, Plastic Cowl, weather seal and un-bolt the entire cowl...with Wiper assm...It gives you great access to the rear (or other side) of the Motor. (who Knew?)
Anyway, I ordered New Plugs, wires, EGR Valve assm., PVC Valve, Coolant sensor, Manifold Gaskets and a Water Pump (because its leaking bad).
After all this ****...It better run Good!

last weekend, My daughter brought over her 2006 Hyundia Santa Fe that had a Horrible Grinding Noise.
I took it for an Around the Block test ride and after 3 houses, I wanted to throw it in reverse and go back home....Ugh!
I pulled the passenger side wheels off and crawled under...Only to find a Large Section of Metal laying on top of the rear driveshaft.
I had to Pull, Bend, Pull, Bend, pull, Bend until I was able to remove it.
Hyundia added a pick that goes from rear seat to reat seat and over the driveshaft as a Heat Protection or Stone Protection (???), but it rotted away and fell off.
The Floor is solid, but this crappy sheetmetal didnt like Midwest weather.
Easy Fix....For Now. At least is Quite!

Brought this E450 mini bus in to the shop with a code p0131 (IAT temp input high)
while monitoring the temp with the IDS the temp was reading -40f when it really was ambient temp around 85f. While reving the bus up in gear i noticed it would go from -40f to + 110F. To make a long story short i found a pin that was backed out in a connector and when the motor torqued it would pull back on the pin causing the temp to go -

I did watch a quick youtube tutorial. I looked up workbench in sketchup and found a video tutorial of someone doing the Kreg pockethole workbench. From watching about 7 minutes of the tutorial, I studded 3 walls of my garage, drew 2 workbenches, my french cleat wall storage rails I want to do, and drew the shelves. I also found a Rav4 model online to put in the sketch since that is what will be parked in there, a tablesaw, my toolbox I mentioned, and the lawn tractor. Tomorrow (at work while I wait for my hour long equip. cycle) I'll draw some cabinets and stuff I want to hang on the walls. It is pretty simple for drawing dimensional stuff for woodworking or designing benches and cabinets.

Got my chainsaws going. Both needed fuel lines, the old Poulan 1800 need the carb rebuilt and I also had to the clean the oil check valve and out in a new oil line. The other is a newer Craftsman (Poulan), rarely have problems with either. People can say what they want about the Poulans but for me they have been great. The 1800 has to be one of the easiest saws to work on, especially for a top handle saw.

Next thing will be cleaning up after messing with them. A lot of oily sawdust all over the bench that needs cleaned up.

Makeshift drain pan. My pan had a 5 gallon max and I had to think quickly to avoid overflow.

I think this car/gas has been sitting longer than a year and a half. When I poured this into a proper storage container there was some nice liquid varnish at the bottom. What was supposed to be a quick/simple fix is turning into something I don't even want to touch.

Ok, I don't hunt, but I'm thinking of taking it up. See, it's the warmest it's been for quite a long time at a balmy 28° today. I only live 60 miles from Punxsutawney, PA. I'm thinking about taking up groundhog hunting.

Oh, as for what I did in my garage today. Last night the outside cat looked a bit cold and all covered in snow meowing like crazy, so I let her in the garage. Forgot about her and heard her crying on the other side of the door in the garage this morning. Opened the door, opened the door from the breezeway to outside and she bolted out. She won't use a litterbox in the garage. So, there you go, about the only thing I can do in the garage, today I opened the door.

I might even open it again tomorrow. Where is spring?

Not in per se but just outside. I purchased some of the new Duplicolor Tire shine that's a paint. Since I had 4 new tires to go on my Lightning to be mounted, I figured I'd give them a coat before hand. The stuff calls for 3 coats and supposedly last 5 times longer than Tire Wet and won't wash off in the rain. Pics for references.

This is one of the old tires on the truck. One can coated 4 -18'' tires on both sides with some left over. Stuff is around $9 a can and I bought 4 cans just in case the stuff went fast and it took way more than I figured. We'll see how they look when mounted on trucks original wheels. I've had enough of the chrome ones for a while.

Why would you do both sides of the tire?

Also, if you sprayed pre-mounting, I think the mount tool may scuff some of it off.

It may, I did both sides since I dropped them off and left them to be mounted. I also did both sides to just experiment and in case the tires weren't put on the exact rim to get the shiny side out. The stuff is new and worst case scenario is I have to redo it. The coating won't last forever anyway, directions say to recoat when necessary to regain the desired look. I have had Tire Wet last for months because the truck isn't driven in the rain. I'm hoping this might last a year sitting in a garage out of the sun. It was $9 and time. The rims were just refinished and cost $512 for the 4, I wasn't ready to risk them getting this on them and somehow messing them up.

A few days ago had to dig out the snowblower that had become buried with stuff. A few days before that we had a little cardboard spray booth set up for pinewood derby cars. My son and I had a blast doing the car. Ended up being quite fast, he placed and got a trophy,much to our surprise. We had the wood around the axles break out, so had to re-build and re-install them last minute. Then it was over-weight so had to adjust the weight. It's amazing how plasticwood and super glue can fix stuff.

Just finished putting the gilson snowblower back together. It feels great to have it running but I couldn't let it really run too long. I doubt the neighbors would have liked me clearinf the driveway at 2:30 in the morning.

Worked on my uncles truck some more, 81 F100 with a 68 very rough 302. Whenever I get one thing fixed somthing else is wrong. Today it was the fuel pump spraying fuel through the weep hole. Still trying to get the choke set for an easier start without flooding the engine. Pretty tough since you can only really start it cold once a day. Adjusted the valves pretty close no more severe tapping so thats good. And found out the timing pointer is missing. Still have to check the water pump and alt. one of them is doing some intermittent squeling. All started with Do you think you can get my truck running better and check the trasmission leak!
