Looking for a 2 post lift 8' 9" max

I know its been covered here over and over but I cant seem to find any information. Yes I seached and seached and searched.
While I like the Max lift I think it just wont go high enough.

I have a 4 car wide garage. The ceiling height is 8' but I can cur the drywall and gain another 9"s to the subfloor above it. there is a room above the garage. 110v or 220 is not a problem.
So my questions is there a lift that will fit or am i stuck with the max lift?

What will you be lifting? Most sedans are around 50-55" tall, which means you would only be able to lift the car about 4' into the air anyways. And of course trucks and SUVs are taller. Even if you are only lifting really low sports cars, like an NSX (only 45" tall), you could only lift it about 5' into the air. This would be too low to stand under, and may be too high to work under while sitting.

It's a lot easier to work on a vehicle sitting on a rolling stool with it up on lift than it is lying on your back. So as long as you can get the car up high enough so you can sit up on the rolling stool, I think it's worth having the lift.

I can get my Cobra up high enough on my 4 post to stand underneath...but my old Dodge Truck can only go high enough to use the rolling stool. I don't miss lying on the floor.

I too am looking for a lift for my 10 foot ceilings so I can park a 54" high mustang on top and my convertible underneath in one stall.
Not including rack dimensions, feasibly I could stack them and be at 9' 4" or so.
It's gonna be a tight fit in my garage...you must have low slung rides.
I be watching this thread...If they can put a man on the moon, ya think they can find a way to shoehorn 2 cars with a lift in a single bay!!!!

That lift is 113" Have you thought of recessing the lift in the floor. If you sank the lift 9-10in below finished floor height lots of lifts will work. I just helped a buddy pour a recessed "well" for his bendpak low rise lift. The install turned out slick since the lower cable floor plate is below grade. We made a steel access plate so the floor is smooth.

My ceiling is 8' 10" I can lift my Nissan Frontier and Ford Explorer to the full height of the MJ
You'll see it in the first video. It's not that bad working on the roller seat and it's perfect height for brakes etc.

I bought one today. Talked to them for some time on the phone. This lift seems to have a lot going for it that is better than the MaxJax. Welded in ladder locking system (locks every 5",) 1000 lb greater capacity, 2 feet higher lift and still fits under an 8 ft ceiling. I like that if I move I can take it with me and maybe put it in a taller shop and get the full lift and not have to buy another one later. The blue and yellow unit in the video is their third prototype before going to production. They shortened up their 9000 lb lift and made it a 7000 lb lift and put the triple telescoping arms off their 11,000 lb lift on it so they can bridge a pretty wide gap. It uses the same diverter valve technology as the MaxJax to evenly lift both sides with fluid transfer to the cylinders. The cylinders are self bleeding so there are no bleed screws to open and you just run the lift up and down a couple times. It was only $150 more than the standard MaxJax price delivered. I was unsure at first due to it being new to the market and no published reviews but after talking with them I feel a lot better.

Got pics of this recessed floor? My ceiling is 9 feet and if I have to repour concrete anyway (mine is 3.5" thick), recessing the lift might make a lot of sense.

I also agree with the idea that working seated is by far better than on your back. I have the MaxJax with 11' 2" ceilings. I get my cars up where my head sitting with the chair in the low position clears by about 1-2", I'm about 6' 1".

if you can get 113" inches go with the bendpak 9000 or dannmar 9000.

both are on the cheaper side for a home lift, both are ali certified. no need for a maxjax if you can squeeze out a few inches - though maxjax is a good choice it seems.
