I am new to the forum and need your help, I am looking to upgrade my tool box and have the option to purchase a Harley Davidson edition snap on model that I think is a Krl 757 & 737 in great condition stored complete with keys and drawer liners with no damage for $1500 and $200 in delivery costs v/s purchasing a tool vault 56" 21 drawer from Shannon. I am undecided on which way to go I am in the need for more storage but i am not a professional mechanic it will be home use only. Which is the better box quality and volume for the money? The snap on measures 36w 24d 61h. Thanks Chris. :D

without knowing how many tools you have, or what you want to keep in your toolbox, it's hard to say....

from what i've seen, most of the SO/HD edition boxes dont hold the resale value that a std version of the box does :dunno:
that dont stop people still asking crazy prices for them, but they dont seem to sell....

what edition boxes are they, 90th?
even in "as new" condition, i've seen sets of 90th aniv editions sell for less than $1200 on ebay.

used toolbox prices vary wildly all over the country, in the end it's up to you to decide, but if i could get the SO boxes for under $1500
i'd probably take them over anything else, only because iknow they will last my lifetime, and probably someone elses.

plus you could be the only guy on the block with an aniversary edition harley box

Thanks for your input I will end up with around $1700 in this box and I am wondering if it worth that much and if I will regret not going with the larger box even though its not a SO. I have read a lot of good reviews on the tool vault which is made by montezuma for the same money. I have limited funds.

looks to be in good condition,

but it's ultimately up to you....
i have no idea on the price of the other box you are looking at.
i think i'd go $1500 all included

why the transportation costs?
no truck or trailer available?
daily uhaul rentals are reasonable

personally i'd prefer the smaller footprint of the SO boxes, especially in a home garage, where available space seems to change with the seasons....

The box is $1500 but it is 300 miles away so I am estimating my gas for the 600 mile round trip at $200 worse case scenario truck gets bore mileage. Thanks

lightbulb moment

"oh honey, lets take a little road trip to XXXville next weekend, it'll be fun, we can get away from the house, kids, and dogs, spend the night in a motel ,(wink, wink, knod, knod)."
before leaving the next morning, just mention to her you have to stop and pick something up :rocker:

The 56" Tool Vault is bigger. and will last forever in a home shop setting...

Strictly Toolboxes are professional folks, and will treat you right...

There is a review of the Tool Vault box on the forum, one was given to one of the forum members for naming the box...

I'm not hung up on having Snap On, I can get more tools for my money elsewhere...as a home user, the cost just isn't justified...I can see the expenditure for a professional, however...

Either choice will work for you, it just a matter of choosing...
