Alright guys, after being a admitted lurker, I finally logged in, mostly so I can see more of the pics on here. As promised, below I will include lessons learned from growing up in the PAC NW. At this moment, I can't decide if I should randomly update with new thoughts, but we'll just roll with it. :rocker:

#1: When its raining sideways, close your garage door. This technique is also effective for when the wind is blowing leaves around.

#2: It is scientifically proven that if you dare to wash your car, it will rain the next day, this is why I suggest to all automotive stores (are you listening Griot's?) that with any purchase of car wash soap, they include a free umbrella. As my dad always said, always be prepared.

#3: Canadian drivers firmly believe that the speed limit in the US is a fictional rumor, and instead choose to drive at either a.) the same speed that they either run behind their dog sleds OR b.) Select their MPH based on the posted number multiplied by the current British Pound exchange rate.

#4: If you have recently bent your wheels, but don't want to replace them, park in Tacoma. Not only will your insurance have to buy you a new set of wheels after they are stolen, you will also have the added satisfaction of giving the thieves a bent set of rims. We call this "winning", something we all dream of our sports teams doing.

#5: Driving in Oregon would appear to require drinking adult beverages prior to your journey, as this is the only logical explanation for 55 MPH speed limits and the driving displayed by any vehicle carrying a Oregon license plate.

Upstanding Canadians are the ones who haven't either played enough hockey, or drank their morning ration of maple-syrup flavored beer.... or both.... :drink:

I've heard of such things, but I believe it only exists in Hawaii. Each summer we have a tantalizing light that appears in the sky, but it only exists for 4 months before becoming over-shadowed by the dark gray water monster that lurks in this area of the country.

Welcome from a fellow Seattlite. However I do live down in that seedy place seattlites like nothing more than to make fun of - Tacoma! Actually NE tacoma which is more or less Federal Way. Confusing since you have to drive through milton/fife and the port area before you get to the rest of Tacoma, also known as T town, the tacoma aroma etc. :lol_hitti

Also did you see that bright spot in the sky Saturday? I actually washed my truck so I am responsible for the inevitable next month of rain. I was smart enough to move my Model A, engine stand, tools and **** to the other side of my garage so that I can BARELY shoehorn my truck into my rediculously small suburban 2 car (more appropriate to call it a 1.3 car) garage. There it will remain until I give it some long over due TLC with a clay bar, some wax, new wipers and rainX. The fact that I have needed wipers and rainx on my vehicles for months now has only increased my hostility toward this incessent rain!

P.S. I like the way you think here and totally agree! :D

Seven posts to introduce yourself ... and we still don't know anything about you. I think that's a GJ first.

Good point, allow me to formally introduce myself!

My wife and I bought our first house a year ago (as of tomorrow, come to think of it), and I'm finally diving into the garage a bit to make some "adjustments".

We live a blessed life, which I can say in confidence given the fact that my first garage happens to be a 3 car garage. While this is by no means my dream set up, it will do during what most "elderly" folks kindly refer to as our "acquiring years".

At some point I'll put a "build thread" together to show the before/mid/after pics of my garage clean-up project, but as of yet simply haven't had the time to finish my current project, which I distinctly named "painting the damn garage".

I love just about anything that can be ridden or driven, and have a couple atv's for the wife and I, so being able to work on things in my man cave is a must. I'm mostly a lurker, but I'll pop in and out as time permits.
