Lift points on a Ford Ranger?

I am about 5 minutes away from drilling into my concrete slab for my maxjax. I've double checked everything as far as measurements on my STi and my wifes Solara... I am currently spaced end to end at 125" for the posts... My ford ranger however I have no clue where to even put the pads for the lift to lift it up. I don't have the manual.. does anyone that owns a ford ranger have pictures or spacing details on where you have your maxjax spaced out?

At 125" It almost seems like there is no place for me to put the arms/pads since they are stretched the entire way out.

I've never lifted the truck either so I'm not familar with the lift points for a lift... normally for the rear end I'd use the rear diff housing but obviously that doesn't work here.

It's a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3l rwd.

Also unlike my car and her car I can't put the pads on the sides of the car, normally where you would put a sissor jack that comes with the car for a flat tire change... it's plastic there it appears, nothing seems solid...
Thanks so much,

-Nigel

Thank you for the link!

I guess that's my problem, where they want you to lift at the rear and front the arms won't reach because the wheels are in the way... Where as both the cars I can lift from the sides and have no issues at all.

hmmmm, this *****.. I can't be the only one with a ranger that wants to lift it via the maxjax...

Is it a 4X4 ranger? If so, then there should be a brace on each front that is right near the frame.
If you can reach the leaf spring eye bolts, lift the rear there.

Or just stop by a Ford dealer or a service shop and have them put some masking tape on the lift points.

Rangers get up on a lift a lot.

By the frame and center the weight on the columns of the lift. Are the arms to short to lift by the frame??? The lift points for a 2 post lift are far different from the jack points listed by the mfg. If the lift is ali certified it should have come with a very detailed book showing lifting points for 2 post lifts. When the vehicle mfg specs a lift point its for flat repair one corner lifted at a time with a floor, scissor, or bottle jack. Just forget what the vehicle mfg manual says unless your lifting one wheel at a time.

Under the frame. Be careful the rear axle dosn't stay on the floor while the rest of the truck goes up... Rangers are notorius for having rusted out rear spring shackles and also the brackets on the frame itself. The first time I called the dealer to order some and they told me they had 25 in stock I knew it was a common problem.

Go buy a lift point guide book from ALI.
Most newer vehicles have triangle shaped indicators on the chassis to show you where to lift it.
