Anyone know anything about the tools from a fitness/warranty PoV besides the disclaimer?
IOW are these 2nds expected to self destruct the first time they're used.... and the buyer (me) is just SoL?

magnetic rails are a steal at that price, i bought a ton of them

also, i used the air tool racks (4) in my hutch for my air tools

the matco shears are good as well

the hand drive locking extensions... they are just ok, basically only worth what they are selling for now

I didn't figure the lock mechanisms were equal to the 3rd party found on most of the tool truck impact "locking" extensions.

How do these VIM's compare - somewhere between the above type and the CM/NT/HF push buttons?.... or are the 'handles' problematic?.... or does the extension just scream/feel cheap?

Yeah I know - quit being cheap and buy a set!!

EDIT
Anyone have any coupons/codes?

Shoot, and I finally thought I was done buying stuff for a while. Hex bits, security torx, impact hex, air tool holders, cheap insulated screwdriver.... there goes another week's pay.

Doesn't VIM make a lot of tools for Mac?
The VIM panel tool set I have looks just like the set you can buy from Mac and Matco, but with different colored handles. I think they OEM for many other brands.

I grabbed a couple of those air tool holders and that pedal pusher doohicky. Not bad for $45 delivered. I think I'll build a small cabinet to mount those in by my air compressor to free up a drawer in one of my over loaded boxes.

Looks like the hand drive locking extensions are the old handle/grip design. Probably blowing out NOS. cheap though for what you get.

I bought the 3/8 and 1/2 sets from the same page back in beginning of October. I like them alot...
For reference, Tooltopia currently sells the 1/4 set a couple $ cheaper.

Santa got me the torx security set from that page in December... I like them too

I guess they don't change the 'monthly sale' as it seems like the same items are still there.

I'm just a weekend tinkerer, but I bought some stuff from VIM a while back. So far everything has held up.

Thanks for the link. I tried very hard to resist, but had to give in as the 18" lock extension is just too convenience...

Re: Magrail vs. Magrail TL, I see from the video that the TL will hold sockets and are magnetic on the base so the entire rail can be held to a metal surface.

Am I correct to assume the regular Magrail just holds sockets and the base itself will not stick to a metal surface like the TL's?

thanks,

Rob

I picked up the extensions shown in all three drives sizes over the last year +/-.

I use the 3/8 and 1/4 several times a week and like my other tools I don't baby them. I don't abuse them (too much) but they are tools not jewelry and if one breaks I'll just replace it with something better.

So far all the items I have picked up from Vim Tools have been top notch, especially the nut drivers and allen sockets. I do abuse those and they haven't flinched once.

I picked up the 3/8 and 1/2 locking extensions and waited for the 1/4 to come down in price then I got those too.

I'd buy all of them over again. The lock on the extensions actually works well and the grip handle is about as useful as a third arm.

FWIW...

I ordered 13 magrails to organize my sockets and a few extra posts with t-nuts. When the box arrived it was missing 10 post & t-nuts for each magrails so I called them about it. Within a few hours, they called back and said the posts & t-nuts are in the mail. I'm expecting 13 bags of the hardware.

This is my first order with this company and I'm impressed. I will update once I receive the pieces to close out this discussion.

Double check the package, they are packed separately at end of the box. I thought it was missing too until I looked through the box.

Double checked and confirmed the posts were not sent originally.

As promised, the missing posts and t-nuts were in my mail box yesterday. Vim tools is on my go-to tool source list after this. They done well :)

You guys just cost me another $55!
I had previously bought VIM triple square sockets and was very happy with the quality. Looking forward to seeing this order in the mail.

Edit: They shipped Monday and arrived today! Nothing like unexpected overnight shipping. The security torx set is very nice and a steal at this price. The magnetic socket holders are nice but I wouldn't want to pay full price. Anyone know what the included pieces do? I feel like I'm missing something obvious...

What is the length on these magrails, I'm not seeing it listed anywhere on the page.

Thanks.

I'm not at home atm, but the length was around 12 inch. It will hold around 10 pieces of 1/2 sockets or around 20 of 1/4 sockets.

Came home and measured. Updated.
