This is a great site. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how one looks at it, it is focused primarilly on garages.

I am wondering if there are any equally good sites that you guys know about that cover home construction? I am looking for the same types of discussion, commentary, etc. for building homes.

If you're talking to me, I've never been to any of the above sights. Those simply popped up in a Google search to help out the original poster...

I figure I'm pretty well versed in google search techniques. I've been to most or all of the ones listed, but my question was really directed at finding sites that people had had good luck with and had found to be as useful as this one.

We are in the process of getting building permits for a house and wanted to get some information on techniques, products, etc. that people are using.

OK, fair enough, I mispoke. I did not mean to imply that I needed help on getting the permits.

I'm looking for information on construction techniques, products, etc. and chat sites/forums that discuss them.
