Picked up this lot of used Snap-On and MAC tools over the weekend.
New cost for these would be $827.00.
Paid $120.00.

I stopped by Home Depot to pick up a grill that I had ordered ship-to-store. When I got there, I realised that there was NO WAY it would fit in my car (I've been saving up to buy an old truck, but that's a different post). So... I rented one of their hourly trucks... since I already was renting the vehicle, I figured I might as well stop by Harbor Freight to pick up a tool chest I've been looking at for a while now!

Also, this past weekend I put together a table saw I've had in the box for a little while.

I've not had a garage but since last August... it feels good to put nice stuff into it!

The HF cabinets... wasn't the paint dull (satin almost) and now glossy? Did the quality change with the paint change?

There are TONS of posts about the HF Tool Chests. From what I can gather, the glossy red paint is actually a slight step up in quality of the paint (compared to the 'hammered' look of the old black/grey). I didn't have a scratch on it, that I could tell. A slight mar on the aluminum drawer pull cover on one of the drawers, but I can't tell if it was a mar or just something that dripped on it and just needs cleaned off. I'll get a better look at it when I get off work tonight :willy_nil .

As far as the hardware goes, I'm not sure if quality went up or down. From all of the posts I've read the last couple of weeks, it is a consistent quality. :dunno:

So you bought and loaded a tool box from HF in a Home Depot truck. Did you get any weird looks loading that thing in HD truck?

My new Northern Tool 14" dry cut saw came today!!!

Not much time to mess with it but I just HAD to make one cut just to see how it was gonna work. Check out how clean the cut is on this 2"x2"x1/4" angle.

I'll post more when I get time to get it all setup.

returned my makita recip saw, debated for a week whether I wanted a makita or dewalt recip and whether or not corded or cordless, finally decided on the 20V max recip, figured I got some 12V max stuff and would be a good expansion, now to get a 20V/12V charger

Went to lowes and got them to price match with ihlcanada + 10% off

The funny thing was, I was on the phone with my friend and we were talking about when Harbor Freight closes, while I was standing in Home Depot. I said "It closes at 9." and the guy behind the counter says "No, we close at 10." I didn't say anything but nodded and he said "Did you hear me?" and I had to tell him I was taking the truck to get a Tool Box at Harbor Freight and he says "We have tool boxes!" :lol_hitti

Edit: Just discovered a little trick to keep the welder from sliding all over the top of the cart without having to drill holes and bolt it down. I just used some left over non-slip tool drawer liner that I had, cut it to size and placed the welder over top of it. Doesn't slide around at all now, and I can still lift the welder off of the cart when needed.

UPS also brought me some of my favorite screwdrivers -WERA-.

I first discovered WERA tools when I found their Stainless Steel line. Which I purchased to use on the SS fasteners on my boat.

My "free" Craftsman led work light showed up yesterday. I had around $18 in points from adding my credit card to my account and they were offering $10 in points for redeeming your points. Combine that with the Craftsman Club discounts and SYW free shipping, and free light!

I hope you have better luck then me with those. Mine don't hold a charge for long. 15 minutes or so. Yeah the lights will stay on for days but very very dim.
In their defense, both the ones I have stayed without a charge for months so maybe that killed the battery.
