I've heard in the past that between the blue set and the yellow set of nylon pry bars at harbor freight, one is better than the other, and one snaps more easily than the other. Is the yellow set the better one?

Two different sets of tools for two different purposes for me.

The blues are a bit softer and good for prying door pads and things that need a little finesse but are bigger components.

The yellows are good for dash trim and tight fit work.
I keep 3 sets of the yellows around and use one set for bicycle work like to remove tires and pry components. Works like a charm

Both Snappy and MAC sell an extended piece verions of the yellows in a tool roll for 10x the cost if not more.

I use the yellow far more than the blues but they are not the same.

I say, for the HF price, buy both. :)

I am not sure
One of the mechanics at my work has the yellow set and has been very happy with them.
the blue set has some really wide ones which didnt seem like would be as useful to me.

Im not sure which is better

I certainly hope so...I threw the blue set in the trash, might as well have used tooth picks.

For total of $12 I bought both sets. They have their intended uses. People seem to have bought these thinking they can use them as a replacement for their metal scraper.

Bought my first wright tool and while I was spending money I picked up the punches. First thing that I did was take the ratchet apart and lubed it. I took some pictures for ya'll. Notice the size of the teeth on the ratchet handle. That is due to the double pawl design. 40 teeth but 82 clicks. The punches are dasco pro and I picked them up for about $20 at a local shop. The ratchet I bought on Amazon for $35 with shipping.

I've been putting together tools slowly, then i joined gj...

This is my kobalt batch also got a 1/4 kobalt swivel head ratchet. Not a huge fan of the deeply stamped Taiwan but they feel good.

Have a couple hundred dollars in the mail from crawford and harry epstein's.

Bought my first cabinet and top box, just a single bay. I said to myself that it would probably take a year or two to fill..... then I joined gj

You got a deal on those pins. I HAD to buy some the other day and paid a lot more. I couldn't even wait a day for Amazon. The good thing is that I got them at a local mom n pops hardware store.

LOL.

This site is both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing to tool knowledge. A curse to your wallet and bank account.

Just sniped and picked up via a CL ad.

Brand new in box 500-x Drill Doctor drill bit sharpener.
Most parts still sealed in bags.
Comes with the VHS casette educational tape. Ha.
Never used. Minty diamond sharpener.

$60 cash.

Bought from orginal owner who never used it.
Can be used with the 750-x chuck to do up to 3/4" bits.

Considering I have over 100 drill bits about the garage it will pay for itself in a weekend.

Not killer price but for NOS i could not bear to pass it up.

And I blame you ALL because without GJ I would have never known WTF a drill doctor was.
You should all be proud. Or ashamed. Your choice. LOLZZZZZZZZZZ.

I think you're gonna be hooked on buying more snap on tools

Yeah I definitely gotta slow down, looking for used green tools mostly now. My cousin has some that he is going to sell me when the local truck can get him red stuff to replace it.

Hahahahahaha.

I have an old skool B&D drill bit sharpener from the 70's for a pinch but this was too good seeing the drill doctors are $140 to $160 retail . And this was NIB with hard shell case. And it is.

I'll give the CL seller some B2B business so it's all a wash. Win-win. :)

Damn you GJ.

And got my self a 31" pry bar
IMAG0121_zpsabcb4f0b.jpg

Don't really know when I'll use this beast fur for $30, I figured why not lol
Only reason why I was a little disappointed was that I saw the packaging and it read that they were maid in Taiwan. :headshake I guess I'll be giving my money to Snap Off, I mean Snap On lol

Also, what are your guys' opinions on engraving your name on your tools? good? Bad? Makes it look ugly?

Thanks guys! The tires are for my 2002 SS. I've got some new wheels, 18*9.5 fronts and 18*10.5 in the rears....hopefully everything fits nicely!

I did test drive a 2012 45th Anniversary Edition SS but didn't have $43K in my wallet that day!

Awesome tires. I had a few pairs on my Honda (gasp!) S2000; wrapped around forged Volk RE30 wheels (for you Honda guys).

Nice!, I have 8" Dayton and love it, think I would only replace it with a Baldor. I would like to get a 6" Dayton for sharpening tungstens and have a matching set

Also got Snap On's recent deal where you bought their Torx socket set and got a TL72 and FL80 for free. Both arrived on the same day, what an awesome day. I forgot to take a photo of the Snap On set though, doh!

LOL.
So true.

Had a buddy's company throwing out spools of stainless .032 stainless wire due to the Five-S system they use. 5lbs. Free. I'm a happy boy.

Now I just need to find a cheap saftey wire twister/cutter/spinners for home use.

Good one stays in my work box. Now on to the hunt. :)

crawfordtools.com has some pretty good deals on milbars right now.

5lbs of .032.... for free.... you may **** for that schore lol.

I need to get a cheaper set of twisters in the 9" range... I like having the 25w's for tight areas or where switching rotation is needed, but having a solid pair of non reversible's would be nice to have
