There are stainless ones made for surgical use called the OrthoVise. This is a link to where I came across it. Info is about halfway down the page. http://www.innomed.net/knee_tools_rongeurs.htm The adjusting bolt is just removed and replaced with a medical grade stainless slide hammer. Different sized locking pliers are available with different sized or weighted "slap hammers". Instead of riveting the pivot in the jaws, a bolt is used. The "slap hammer" can also be attached to that point in case you need to pull from the side. The slap hammers are also designed with a hammer plate in case extra force from a mallet is needed. Since it's for surgical use it's probably a fairly expensive setup. I'm surprised though that none of the expensive tool companies like Snap-On offer a set like this.
