Just picked p both sets today. Also got a 9pc 1/2" socket set and a add on 1/2" socket set for $19.99 each. So my total was over $50 so I was able to use a $10 off coupon and also used a 10,000 extra points coupon.

Wow, signed in for my SYWR points, and it kicked the price down to $8.99 each! With the points I had I ended up paying $12.23 for both. A nice update to the ancient half set I still have that doesn't have the ratchet drive built in.

These can be handy for cutting through a layer of Cosmolene undercoating to remove a nut or bolt.

so i finally got burned by the wonderful sears.com customer service i've heard others complain about. ordered both sets on sale. nothing happened for 3 weeks. called them up, and they said they'd look into it. got an email today canceling the order for no reason. called them up again, and they said they'd be happy to sell them to me at the current price, but couldn't honor my original order. i told them they lost a customer. then the customer service rep started trying to argue with me. unbelievable.

Not so much. Sears has been getting worse and worse. At this point, I only go there to dump the free SYWR points they give me.

that's basically what i was doing. even giving me free shipping, a sale price, and points off the top they still screwed it up to the point i don't care about them anymore.

Yep, it's amazing. What's most maddening is that there is NO reasoning with them. Industry standard/customer service would be that if you ordered during a sale period and they screwed up, they'll honor the sale price. But suggesting that to them (which the customer should not have to suggest in the first place) is just met with confusion.

I've also read the complaints of those who used SYWR points on a botched sale and have to fight to get the points back.

I have found that if you threaten them with a fraud report to the state attorney general's office they will bend over backwards for you... They are a horrible company that I will not miss when they go out of business.

Post on their facebook page as well. It helps to embarrass them as much as possible for their idiotic behavior.

Thanks for the update EdJack. Picked up both sets tonight. I figure what's $20 but a couple trips to the burger place on my lunch.
