That's pretty dang neat but I think I'd rather recreate the 747's garage in my garage!

I have to say this guy has hit it dead on... I flew Pan Am 747 first class to Hawaii back in the late 1980s and this is exactly what it looked like...

I could hang out in there. I hate flying, but planes of that era were cool. To have room for the upstairs deck has to be his ultimate goal. Along with a couple of hot flight attendants.

We called them stewardesses then.

What i'm waiting for is somebody to put together a fighter jet cockpit as a gaming lounge.
Edit : if it was anybody I know, they'd suit up like Maverick and play sims for 14 hrs straight :(

I saw that a little while ago on tv. This is like the question....which came first chicken or egg. Is this a compulsion that lead to an obsession? Or an obsession that lead to a compulsion. He's probably harmless but I think his happy meal is missing some fries. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I've seen that done plenty of times. The best one wasn't a true cockpit, but a video of a guy's home theater room. The home theater seats all rotated via electric motors over to the side and a racing sim cockpit rose from the floor. Within the racing sim cockpit, the wheel and pedal controls would rotate around and was replaced by a wheel and yoke for flight sim. The shifter rotated around to reveal a joystick and throttle control flipped up on the other side.

I sent this to my aunt who flew for Pan Am in the 60's and she said this was spot on.

A buddy of mine is creating a full F15 cockpit and simulator including home built collimated projection display.

That's what happens when you give a talented guy too much free time.

I think it was on the show Tech 360 that they showed a gaming cockpit of a fighter that you can buy for home. Something like $15,000 IIRC. Everything was supposed to be correct as far as resemblance to an actual fighter.
