Thanks!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

I'm in Ohio. I talked to another Ohio member who has solid tile... He advised me to get a squeegee :p

Well done sir, great quick makeover, it sure made a big different.

Thanks man! I stole the fluorescent light idea from you

Thank you sir.

It took me about three hours to lay the floor. The next day, I woke up at 630 and starting cutting :p That took me about 2 hours.

Overall: 5 hours.

I tried the foot method, but one of the black tabs broke. The tile went down fine still. I used my palm to strike them into place after that. I got pretty meticulous in placing them with my hand only and snapping them.
**Racedeck is sending me a couple more without question

I did get 6 tiles in black carpet for under the shoe rack also. I had to cut a few inches off of those, and I didn't have a problem.

EDIT: PS... Your garage is NASTY! Nice work.... That garage puts some showrooms to shame man!

:rocker:

Thanks Scoobers.
5 hours is really minimal for such a great result. I really like the Racedeck option. Great job!

Hahaha sweet, it would have been a shame to have your previous lighting with your new floors. Proper lighting really does the floor and the rest of the space justice.

No doubt dubber... I had the fluorescent bulbs unplugged and plugged in to see the difference... It made a HUGE difference.

What are you going to do about the leaking cars?

Oops... I didn't think of that... I'm going to send it back now

Just kidding...

I talked to a guy who has Racedeck Tile in his garage for seven years now. It's a 500 sq. ft garage and as of now, he parks his daily driver(A 2013 4runner) and his summer vehicle (2011 AMG) in it.

During the winter, he said after a big snowstorm, he'd still park his car on it. Clumps would fall off, melt, and form a puddle.
The thing that turned me onto racedeck is he said he'd simply squeegee it the next day. Occasionally, he'd wait two days and most of it would evaporate.
During the summer months, the rain that drips from the cars simply disappears. I have personally already had experience with this. I also left my garage door open while it was raining out and the front of my garage was wet. I didn't bother with it to see what it would do. That night, just a few drops left.

I originally wanted to do epoxy. I used to have an epoxy garage, and being in Ohio, the snow/salt mixture caused it to deteriorate over several years. I LOVED the way epoxy looks, but as far as my use for my garage and vehicles, it is not ideal from a longevity standpoint.

Maybe one day, when I have F-U money, I can build a separate garage w/ EPOXY and a dry weather car only for it :pimpflash

^ you don't need to prep it at all.. just a basic sweeping is fine
Thanks man!

What cryptic said.

I swept and then used a blower for the remaining dust. I laid down landscaping fabric as well.

On a loudness scale of 1-10, I'd say they are about a 7 of what I expected with the landscaping fabric down. Not an annoying loud or anything, just louder than epoxy. It doesn't bother me. I've had six other people come check it out and no one mentioned the noise.
