Do you find the shock dyno use full? I've been thinking about getting one.

I use it every day :) I am the Factory US rebuilder for JRZ Suspension Engineering so thats how I make my $$ :)

Roehrig is hands down the best machine out there and the 2vs is bulletproof.... and pretty cheap considering its durability at $8g's new.... Cant lose with that choice.

Love the big Snap-On cabinet.

What is the purpose of the "drain" thing? to collect saw-dust/filings?

and when using this stand as an engine stand, do you add additional feet on it, as the base plat seems a bit on the small side? Or is it bolted to the ground, like permanently? so you can't roll it around your shop?

In my line of work on high end cars its a must for customers to see stuff like this, they like the shiny things and feel comfortable leaving cars that are sometimes worth a mil plus in a nice clean shop..... so kinda a necessary evil to spend the $ on equipment and presentation etc....

No i dont add any feet etc.... The base is 24" spuare and made out of 3/8 plate. Pipe is 3/8 wall 8" pipe that I pipe welded (three passes kind of a pain), and the top is 10" square 3/8 plate..... It is anchored in to the concrete on four corners with 3/4" concrete anchors and seems to be very beefy if not overkill... i have had some 3.8L Porsche turbo motors completely assembled with exhausts and everything and it doesnt sag..... kinda nervous the first time i left it overnight though i will admit :)

The drain is helpful when servicing dampers in the vice. Oil goes everywhere when you are building a damper and in this case it just collects in the drain and doesnt get all over the floor... seems to work really well.

thanks for the update! the drain is a great idea...

Don't you miss the ability to roll around the engine though? Never seen anything else but engine stand with wheels, ofcourse if you have the shop space then I can't see why not...

This just gives me the ability to work on the engine. I have a mobile stand but it's not a very good idea for working on a engine as its shaky and moves around..... Ever try torquing head bolts on something on wheels??? PITA as it moves everywhere.

Yes there are three of us in here.
