My Snap On brick and generic code reader wasn't getting it any more. I got the enhanced Domestic and Asian bundle.

I use AE enchanced bundled daily in the shop.
It is the first scanner I use for diag and rarely lets me down.:rocker:

Made in Japan, so the steel is probably decent quality. But do they do anything better or more than a U.S.-made pair of ViceGrips, which everyone should have anyway?

These are much better on a concave button top fastener than any Vise-Grip will ever be. I have used these exactly pliers when a Vise-Grip has failed me.

It is one those tool that will get used infrequently but when it is needed, it is worth it's weight in gold.

My wallet said I was finished on that drawer for now. Last time I argued with my wallet it bit me in the ***. :D

They print more money every day:D

I still have at least 20 pairs of their pliers on my wishlist. I may need to move the snap ring ones to a different drawer.

Day 2, no lift. I have always worked in shop since I was 16 and always had access to a lift. I am now 22 and start my career as an electrician on monday.
I couldn't even wrap my head around letting someone else put their **** beaters on my car. This is my temporary solution until I get big enough garage to handle a lift.

I would never even come close to using the snap ring pliers enough to justify them. My universal Channellock pair handles the few times I need a pair. I will get some more needle nose patterns though. What is the longer pair on the far left towards the front?

Your missing the angled bolt cutters...;)

The last "Forged in U.S.A." 27mm combo wrench left on the shelf of my local Sears. (Needed for BMW Paralever swingarm pivot lock nuts):

Yes. The shape of the tip of the plier, and the orientation of the serrations is unconventional. They're made for gripping the heads of screws in place. I can't do that with conventional Vise Grips.

it seems you need some Knipex electronic pliers

I added a couple of them to my list to replace the little craftsman ones. I had to do a double take on the price. Those little guys are damn expensive.

I don't get into much of the precision circuit board stuff, just need a couple little pliers and cutters and ill be good.

Those bolt cutters are in my shopping cart now. They have been at the top of my list. Both the 20* ones and the 90* ones.

The snap ring pliers I would never live without, but for the price you really have to need them at least weekly. I got so fed up fighting interchangeable tips, or even just the ones that change directions. They always twisted, deformed or some other aggravation. These things are the cats meow but are pricey. $18-50 per pair.

Not sure which one you are referring to. The 12" ones in what would be the lower left corner of the picture/front of the drawer on the left side is their largest snap ring pliers in the precision series. The precisions only do one direction, that is for internal rings, the matching one for external is towards the back of the drawer. They are monsters and very nice. For huge rings I have a T handle deal, can't remember the brand. Does up to 7" rings and is much more compact than the 22" handle pliers Knipex and others offer.

Yeah they're snap ring pliers. I thought they were but couldn't tell for sure on my phone.

Now I need to find all the chromed Cobras. That's my next challenge...

NO! Schmitz outperforms Knipex in this area (better teeth), and they're cheaper too. :bounce:

See above. ;)

If you still need more to finish your box, go directly to their site and order (English page, & online store takes PayPal). No VAT added for US buyers (vanishes when you input your country in the address), and shipping is a flat rate (the more you add, the less expensive shipping gets per piece).

Hope this helps. :)

It was all your input on this tool to make up my mind, thank you! I did a lot of research and decided this is the most bang for the buck. I am self employed and lucky enough to work at home, used car lot work is most of my income.

Glad I could help. AE has a learning curve to it in order to take advantage of it powerful features.

I have mine install on a 5yo IBM Thinkpad that I bought for long battery life.

I'm just an old timer who still is learning something new everyday; will be take way until I take my last breath.

Looks good but I never thought of Volkswagen as a car needing that kind of a treatment. Just drive its wheels off and then get another. :)

Its not an old beetle. Its an 00 with 270,000 miles. Around here you are hard pressed to find one under 6,000 when its a TDI/manual. .

I was replacing the turbo and wsnted something to tfy my stuff on that wouldnt matter. perfect candidate.
