Picked up these two boxes today at local flea shop today for $5 total. Both were full of miscellaneous STUFF, of which I don't need anymore. Basically I bought them for a Williams pin spanner in one, and a couple auger bits in the other. Boxes aren't much, one is Cman, and other is no name, both beat pretty thoroughly. Bunch of unknown open end wrenches in both boxes. I don't even know what these are called. My question is: are they worth keeping, or should they get passed along to the next garage sale?
Just looking for some education.

So long as the boxes aren't so bent as to be unfixable, I'd say keep 'em and restore them. Can't have too many USA made tool boxes around.
The tools are a toss-up. Some brands are valuable to some people, while others ignore them. Every brand has a collector. List up what you've got, and see if somebody here wants those you cant use.

Thanks bonneyman. I'll try that as soon as I figure out who made the wrenches. Like you said, almost everything is collected now days.
Nice job on the box restore. Looks like mine has been repainted at least twice. Gold first, and now the red you see. I think the gray one is original paint, but pretty beat up and doesn't close properly.

I love those smaller boxes. Very handy size for just a few tools for a small project, or for a small car box. Use them un-restored or have fun making them look good.

woody: There were a couple of small Williams, and 1 Cman, but the rest were just marked "drop forged" IIRC. I will have to take anouther look.
