I am saving up to get this set. I have to do a few more jobs on friends cars before I can get it tho. I'm not sure if they are USA or not tho. Either way I will order a set when I have the cash and the price is right.

Should still be USA for at least a little while. No big Craftsman sets have been reported to be imported yet.

Good deal OP!

I think all of the sockets are USA still. Nice set, but waaaaayyy to many 12 points! When would you use any of them?

During my disorganized stage when I never put tools back I would to go my box and find that i had run out of the size sockets in both 6 and 12 point. Many times I would switch down to a different drive size to get the socket size I was looking for. So long story short can't have too many sockets.

PS I have all these sockets but way before it became a set. (from the 70's)

So what set would you suggest? I would like to get all of the bigger sizes and the deeps are important also.

I would like to get a set that is just sockets. I kinda don't like the CM ratchets. I would like to get the Matco locking flex 3/8. I like the Armstrong ratchets also. I have a simple Armstrong that my father in-law gave me and I like it a lot.

Umm yeah you make want to look at the OP unless a couple extensions bother you THAT much.

FWIW I bought this set minus the extensions. The 299 pc socket set that is. About 20% of the sockets have rusted just sitting in my toolbox, and I even put in Zerust toolbox liners. I bought the set mainly for all the large sizes but unfortunately those are the ones that are rusting! I'm pretty pissed. I have exchanged quite a few but it just gets tiresome after awhile.

I hate to say it but I would probably save your money. Get 1/2" impact sockets for all the 1/2" stuff, and if you must have US look at the SK 1/4" and 3/8" sets.
