Lynch pin latches

I need to build a quantity of crude lynch pin latches for door closures. This is nearly identical to trailers with fold up ramps: a bar with a hole(s) in it passes over a stud with a hole drilled in it. Lynch pin inserts in hole in stud.

I can't imagine trailer manufacturers are custom making these studs, but I can't find a source. Similar attachments are found on tractor 3pt hitches too. I CAN make these studs myself by drilling round stock, but the quantity needed makes this impractical.

I must not be searching the right places or using the right search terms. I've searched the web and a couple trailer supply websites, but only found lynch pins themselves. Suggestions??

I've considered hitch pins, ie pins with multiple holes drilled in them for cotter pins, but the holes would be too small and/or the cost too high. I really just need mild steel round stock with a single hole cross drilled. I can adjust thickness of my bar to compensate for hole placement, to some degree.

Your looking for linkage pins. When I needed some for hanging the dies of my tubing bender, I couldn't find the size I wanted without having to cut them down. So I ended up making my own, was pretty easy to do and a lot cheaper as well. Locally a 3/4" linkage pin was $10.

Try Mcmaster Carr - Clevis Pins. These have a shoulder on the end which might help.

The only correct response so far. Some suppliers also call them "Draw Pins" or "Stabilizer Pins."

You can get them at Tractor Supply or any other agricultural dealer.

Depending on the diameter you want Harbor frieght actually has them. Northern and Tractor Supply sell the same pins for more $$.

Just picked up 10- 7/16" lynch pins for 3 point hitch'es at TSC in Lansing Ks. today for $0.25 each, Was there to pick up som hyd. parts and seen them and the price was to good to not pick some up.

Yep, but I don't need the threaded portion. It seems I need weld-on stabilizer pins which I can't find. Again, commonly welded to trailer frames and ramps to keep the ramps in place. Bar slides over each stabilizer pin, lynch pins drop in, ramps stay up.

Alright, the wife was available to help me in the shop today so I had her cut 40 pcs of 1/2" round, chamfer on the lathe and drill 5/16" hole in the mill. I didn't SEEM to take that long 'cause I wasn't doing it. I kept building gates while she made the latch pcs.
