Holy ****.

http://www.gedoretools.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=9399

I almost pulled the trigger, and then my conscience hit me.
I don't need all of these sockets. I don't need any of these sockets.
I don't need a 1/2" ratchet. (although, I did buy the one for $50 they have on the clearance sectio) I do need a couple extensions.
I don't need the case.

Sooo, i figure, since most of youze guys DO need this stuff
to make a living. And your little forum here has led me well with hand tools I do need...... I give the..

you're welcome.

If it was 6 point I would buy them. I have plenty of 12 point sockets and I am a little tripped for cash, so can't really justify it.

I ordered 2 1/2 drive ratchets. One for me and one for my friend. I have 2 1/2 drive ratchets. A craftsman premium and a gearwrench 17 inch flex head. Lengthwise it should be in between the two.

....and they would have still been sitting there collecting dust had
I not:

A.) Gone to the website to get info on their black oxide open
ended spanners (wrenches).

B.) Clicked on automotive (figuring it was closest to "none of the above")

C.) Noticed "Clearance" and clicked on it

D.) Scrolled through, painfully, ten pages that load like **** on dial up.

Maybe Gedore can give me a commission.

If you visited the site, you'll find that I certainly wouldn't be able to
retrieve the info I was looking for.

But I did get a 5 piece ratcheting combo wrench set....for $30.

So I guess it's a draw? :D

Now I just have to wait for it to arrive to find out what sizes are included.

Older ones too, hope they're not from Indianapolis. :headscrat

Irony is, I just bought a NOS 3/8" French made Facom from local tool house, yesterday. The smooth as butter one. I spent what I would on extensions and 1/4" bit adaptors on a 1/2" ratchet. The smarts on me, eh?

The list prices look marked up 100%. 260 bucks for pliers?

http://www.gedoretools.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=11874

Edit: Nvm... I just saw the ratcheting wrench set for 36 bucks. Guess I'm too late. FML.

Those prices are literally what the dealers sell them for!

Now, I do know that, erm... using logic of "pay 200% more for extra 1% of quality" (once you get up to the nice stuff), I own Facom stuff that's worthy of $60 per piece, but I'm weary of the Gedore pliers. Looks like rebadged $40 pliers.

Yes, Gedore is the Ardbeg of German Hand Tools. out of nowhere, they command premium prices when they used to be the cheap ****.

ironically: gedore catalog is the most informative and lengthy of the english versions provided by the euro comapies. For pullers, try page 410 - 469.

I got the catalog from that ash dude's guyz page.

Wish I saw this earlier. If someone decides they don't need the 1/2 socket set I'll gladly buy it from you.

Anyone get a shipping confirmation yet?
Funny story: ordered ratchet and ratcheting
Wrenches on may 4th; not a peep about shipping...yet...on
Clearance items (ie, presume stocked ).

Ordered gedore 6 piece spanner set
On may 6th. It just arrived, as was expected
(Ups tracking). Guess where it drop shipped
From?

Ooooooo, now that's embarrassing. :0

EDIT: As you'll see later in the thread; I was completely incorrect.
They had been e-mailing; and all the good stuff. Gedore USA is really
top notch with the communication, as I've come to learn.

All good. Tracking # appeared today.
Left yesterday, will arrive tomorrow.
I think I got my $$'s worth on the shipping.
 . I'd be charged $80 for that....on home delivery!

The head is big on the u10 1993 blue handle ratchet. It is the exact same thickness as a kobalt 22317 USA ratchet I got w/ a kobalt USA 1/2 drive socket set on clearance a few yrs ago. My craftsman 1/2 drive premium as much thinner head. Gedore does look very stout. I leave it in console of my dakota r/t w/ a few 1/2 drive sockets for a emergency.

Overall, very pleased. We're spoiled by
e-mail updates straight from vendor these
days, but I can look at that as unnecessary.
Was able to log into a personal account on
website, tracking was made available
there before delivery date and items arrived
quick. Good stuff.

EDIT: This post is based on my erroneous lack of checking
a spam box.

It's important to clarify:

Gedore DID in fact send me plenty of email updates.
They even responded to a phone call with even
More emails.

Their first automated response made it to my inbox,
so, uncertain why the other emails went to the spam folder.
Nevertheless: I am an A-hole.

Very nice overall • a +

I see now by the picture that the sockets are 12 point. The out-of-stock one is 6 point, as seen in picture & noted by Mattamd_xp above.

I prefer 6 point, which is gone, so will pass.

They just listed a bunch more new stuff in the Clearance section.

I bought all 5 of the individual screwdrivers. 3 Flat Head and 2 Phillips. I'm not familiar with the quality of Gedore screwdrivers, but for 26 bucks for 5 screwdrivers I figure they've got to be better than the Craftsman screwdrivers I've been using for years.

This thread has been getting very expensive for me!

Picked up the 3/8" SAE socket set, a bunch of loose 3/8" drive metric sockets, two ball peen hammers, and a couple of extensions.
