I am working over in Afghanistan and I woke up to these pictures this morning.

I have been wanting a TIG machine for a while and she had to take her mom down to the Detroit area for surgery. She had plenty of time to kill while waiting around and found this on Craigslist. Its a Miller Dynasty 200DX AC/DC Machine with a foot pedal and torch as well as a bunch of rod and consumables. He even tossed in the Argon bottle. The machine only has 17 hours on it and just over 2000 arc starts. She got it for a steel at $2800!!! What a great wife I have!

I only know how to stick and mig, I have always wanted to learn to tig:dunno:

Anyway, I bet you got a good deal, and I would also be happy that you have a wife that knows her stuff.

Well i guess its a good find, if your into saving something like $3500 !:willy_nil ive never had the pleasure of using that one but i can only imagine how nice it is, and getting it for a little more than diversion 180 money and consumables is a ridiculous deal, that guy took quite the hit

Nice! I have no clue how to TIG, but have heard plenty about how awesome Dynasty machines are.

I'll stick to the good deal on the 350P I actually kinda know how to use.

nice wife. I would shoot mine if she spent $2800, even on me.

I don't know about the price as I like red over blue but it is nice to see you have all of the accessories.

when I lived in Oakland county I found a lot of good deals on CL. now that I live near you most people have there head up there *** for tool prices on CL.

I can't wait to get home and fire it up, I have a 3 week vacation in 31 days. I will probably take my GoPro home with me and make some videos. There will at least be some pictures.

Cool man I live in Newport just east of Monroe. Michigan has the luxury of Bakers Gas you can buy from their website www.bakersgas.com and if something goes wrong you can get service from the brick and mortar store just outside Detroit. It is a stretch of a drive for you though.

I also had a good plasma score. I am a firefighter over here in Afghanistan and right behind our fire station is a welding shop so I hang out there a lot. I have built some gym equipment for the station and a bunch of custom adapters to hook up euro style water truck hoses to our standard 2 1/2 inch fittings so we can reservice our trucks on scene. Well this shop had about 5 or 6 ESAB PCM 975 machines that they said didnt work. I asked if I could have one and they let me walk out with it. Complete machine minus the torch and hose. I had to get it under 70 pounds to mail it home which I did by removing parts on the inside. Got the main body to 69.4 pounds after all packaged up.

I got home on an R&R and un boxed it. The regulator broke during shipping so that was a $125 to replace that, I had to order a torch for it and that was about $500 and then I had it checked out by a repair facility. They said there was a few loose wires but everything looked good and they tested it, $130 for that. So I got a great ESAB heavy duty plasma cutter for $745.

Sorry for the long story but I have scored some great stuff from the military throwing stuff away

I also have a Miller spool gun, its the 30A if anyone is interested, I thought it would work on my 211 but it requires a bunch of adapters and my machine is way under powered to use it so I am going to sell it.

I see this going south real quick, great Idea though! I'd rather see it in your hands here in the USA than anywhere else.

I hate seeing some of the stuff they put in their trash piles around here. I constantly go look in the dumpsters for stuff. About 3 months ago they had a crate that was about 4'x4'x4' full of M-16 magazines going to scrap in the local economy here. They didn't destroy them or anything. They just had an excess and wanted to get rid of them. They also had a bunch of M-16 parts but they did torch those and crush them.
