Few things from last week for my E30 project. Bluepoint valve spring compressor to strip two heads. Also Cman bolt out set for two eroded exhaust manifold nuts. On the bottom too. Worked great though and only $10.

I love that socket holder, and Knipex can be dangerous. Those diagonal Cutters are better than any I have ever used. I use them every day at work (Fuel service mechanic at an airport). Wonderful!

I was at my local Sears today looking to add to my Craftsman Pro Screwdriver collection and happened upon this in a wooden "Clearance" box they had sitting over by the power tools. I have a back yard brick boarder project coming up this summer and know this will be really handy to have. Also thought it would be a nice addition to my growing Vaughan collection. At $9.87 + tax, I couldn't pass it up!

If you flip flop a lot of those hammers around "heads to handles" you can fit at least 4 or 5 moar hammers in that dwr.

Yeah I know. So far I still don't need to flip flop, but at the rate I'm collecting I'll be flip flopping before long. The rubber mallets and dead blow in the other drawer are too big to add to this drawer even with flip flopping (sounds like a dance from the 50's ). Thanks!

I think I'll be buying a new box this week. My snap on guy is giving away this 68" box. I really need to upgrade scan tools first. This will be a great deal. So who knows.

How do those strip bolt sockets work? I saw them in the flyer but decided on something else. My snappy ones have the same head design, just not that spring at the bottom. Whats the purpose of all of that rather than the solid design?

The design works great. I was looking at the Proto set but for $20 (on sale $10ea recently) I got the Cman. No warranty, so if you use them a lot go with the SO or similar. Got some badly eroded exhaust nuts off that nothing was gripping and couldnt get any pliers on. (under side of manifold) Hard to go with other USA ones for that price.

But basically they have flutes in the reverse direction and spiraled. So that they grab and bite into whatever is left of the head. Sometimes you have to hammer. Others just firm pressure will be enough.
