Anybody know where to find the above name brand Vise. They are US made and are of the highest quality. I had purchase a 4 1/2" from home depot some 10 years ago and they are nowhere to be found now. Paid around $45 for it. Anyone knows where to pick one up from?

Any chance the vise looked like the one in this patent to Frederick Brink, #1,720,464.

There are a set of small clamp-on Brink and Cotton vises on Ebay at the moment for $60.

There are also a couple other listings as well. I believe at some point the name was licensed to Wilton.

If you want a currently produced vise that uses the same design, Dolex, "L'expert du serrage," currently manufactures the style in jaw widths from 90mm. to 150mm. The vise is the series #104 or #40( for the 90mm. jaw width). Link to their website.

There not cheap though and you'd have to arrange for shipping to the USA.

The only things i've seen from B&C are c-clamps. The ones I have are at least 60 years old as well. I didn't know they were still in business 10 years ago.

All three trademark #s are listed as dead, although I've seen current brands whose trademarks are also listed that way. The first use in commerce is listed as 1925.

The first trademark registration has a filing date of Dec. 28, 1987 to the Warren Tool Corporation

The last trademark registration has Wilton Corporation Colorado listed. Since Wilton now produces the Columbian vises, and a similar vise was sold under the Columbian brand, I'm guessing your vise was a rebrand from Wilton.

Brink & Cotton were acquired by the Warren Tool Group around 1987. (The Warren Tool Group had earlier acquired Hargrave in 1962, and Columbian vices in 1972.) The Warren Tool Group was then acquired by Wilton circa 1994 before Wilton, in turn, became part of Walter Meier Corporation in 2002...

It now appears that the B&C name has been re-introduced as The Brink & Cotton Manufacturing Company - a privately-held company founded in 2010, so I suppose the Walter Meier Corporation sold the rights to the name...

Hmmm sad, such a good brand/product. It seems though that they are only available used on ebay. Any other recommendation for a US made vise under $100? Thanks
